Excellent price for a touch-screen laptop with half decent CPU and SSD.

CPU scores 1732 on cpubenchmark.net, much better than any atom, and the SSD keeps things nippy enough.

I've bought refurbished laptops from Zoostorm before and they were as new boxed.

It comes with a 12-month warranty.

This one does have a non-functioning battery, which should be replaceable/fixable, but works fine connected to mains.

Also 8X Nectar points on ebay from this Monday 20th Nov, so 640 points.

Full Specs:

  • 14.0" 1366x768 Screen - Multi-Touch
  • Intel Celeron 1037U Dual Core CPU - 2 x 1.80GHz
  • 64GB SSD
  • 4GB RAM
  • Windows 10
  • Intel HD Graphics
  • WiFi
  • 3 x USB 2.0
  • HDMI
  • VGA
  • DVD-RW
  • 9-in-1 Card Reader

I'm using the 11.6" version of this that I got last time these laptops were doing the rounds from zoostorm. Great wee thing. I bought 4xindividual Samsung 18650 cells and fixed the battery. It was very straight-forward to do.

Alibaba have batteries for this for around £25-35.

I wouldn't hesitate to get another of these if it's as good as the last.

CPU has a 1700 benchmark (similar to P8800 Core2Duo cpu's, but with lower power usage)
    cpubenchmark.net/cpu…GHz

It will be OK for internet use, Word, etc...

    Heat added for price (edited)

Is this really a false economy over a £300+ branded one? I've got a 500gb external drive so storage isn't a issue, don't need to take it anywhere so I can deal with the battery issue. Not too bothered about a fantastic screen as long as it does the job. SSD and DVD drive are pluses.

You'd be okay with this. The only noticeable downside of the 11.6" one is that the wifi isn't very strong compared to my other machines or phone so if you plan on using it up a few flights of stairs you might want to use an external wifi adapter.

Plus, the 11.6" one has quite a small keyboard due to its small size. I'd be hopeful that the 14" would be less footery.

The extra 32GB storage is worth the £20 premium IMO as I put another drive in the secondary slot that cost more than that.

Worth keeping an eye on the zoostorm ebay shop. They often have this and the 11.6" coming in & out of stock.

Bought one of these when they were £60 and it was a very nippy machine, exceeding expectations.

Replaced the cells in the battery for less than a tenner.

The only down side is that when the fan really kicks in, it is very loud.

This is perfect for your needs. And you won't find a touch-screen machine for anywhere near this price.

I bought a couple of the 11.6" ones for nephews and they've been great. That's the reason I posted this deal. Worth the extra £20 for bigger screen, twice size SSD and DVD drive IMHO.

I got the 11" one too and my son uses it everyday. Brilliant. I never got around to buying a battery for it but the one time I needed to use it away, I was able to power it from this power block:

Touchscreen and SSD, 4Gb Ram and not the worst processor for under £100 is amazing

yes, but also bear in mind that those were new with faulty batteries whereas these ones are refurbs also with faulty batteries

64gb for a Windows laptop is extremely tight and potentially you can be running out of space often like i did for a windows 64gb tablet with barely anything on it. Saying that, the price is great! Full laptop experience for £80 but probably don't expect to be getting too many apps on once those windows updates are installed!

There's space for another HD or SSD inside this, so easy to upgrade.

Hi mate, how did you fixed the battery on the 11.6" version? Any chance of a quick summary guide and where to buy the Samsung cells? Many thanks

A quick look through the links above provided by I_love_crabs.
They seem to have general method here. I seems to involve opening the battery and replacing the cells.
    hotukdeals.com/dea…e=9

A link was provided for Gearbest (still active) and AliExpress (does work anymore):
    gearbest.com/bat…_de

This assumes it uses the same replacement batteries. If you opened it, you could check the cell model number. (edited)
