This will do the job for wood/metal and masonry drilling plus comes with 2 batteries. The price fluctuates a lot so maybe worth camelcameling the price as picked one up for £55 on amazon a year ago
No good for brick or breezeblock, you'd need the PSB1800, which has got a hammer action. Currently on sale at B&Q for £70. (edited)
The Bosch one listed does not have a hammer function so bricks are out of the question. The Bosch GSB120-Li (on Amazon for £80) does. It's Bosch blue which is the professional range and totally different to the green range. I own this tool and it will drill into brickwork quite happily. The Bosch green one listed above is also designed for a few years of DIY use. I would always buy professional if I could afford it.
SDS drill for drilling holes in domestic walls is a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Would be fine for rawl plugs into plasterboard, brick or concrete. Wouldn't expect it to drill larger holesaw holes in wood or more than 10mm in brick
Ideally you need the PSB if you want to drill into masonry.
No it isn’t.
I owned this drill and for basic things such as drilling Masonry to put a plug in it struggled. Took 10x longer than I hoped.
I bought this as a replacementinstead, it’s been brilliant for the cost. This has been used on reinforced concrete, putting curtain rails up, drilling holes for sleepers.

Voted cold based on experience this drill is not powerful enough for basic jobs. (edited)
way better deal, Green bosh are diy products . This one you posted is a borderline pro and with 2 batteries so you will have less chance on getting caught out, without any power to finish your job .
With just 38nm torque, I highly doubt
On the page it has a link to the newer model and cheaper! Seeing as I dont have a clue and I was thinking of getting this for the other half is the newer model better? Thanks
Same here bought psb for £60 with 2x2.0Ah batteries, good for light DiY but can't find biger Ah batteries for this charger that it comes with
Picked one of these up in b&q with 2 batteries and charger last week £80 if it helps
i bougt it for 59.99 and this is an amazing piece of kit, the battery lasts ages too.
Deal: Cordless Drill Driver, Ginour 18V Combi Drill, Hammer Drill,20+3 Torque,66 Accessories, 2Pcs 2000mAh Lithium Batteries, 45N.m Electric Drill Screwdriver, 13mm Collet, Double Speed, Led Light amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=1
Is this strong enough for drilling in the walls?
I am no expert but I assume, you would probably be better off with one with hammer action and masonary drill bits, I picked up a Ryobi one from B&Q 5 years ago for £50 and it's still going strong, can't get it for that price now.
Link to next best thing please?
Agreed, I think I picked my PSB up for about £50, which came with two batteries.
Currently the cheapest is £70 with single battery, £80 with 2 batteries.
I agree a corded SDS drill is the best for drilling into bricks etc. I bought a cheap ALDI /LIDL corded SDS drill for about £40 and it’s been great - being SDS no need to worry about the bit loosening in the chuck
Needing something for general house work, curtail rails, tv wall brackets into brick wall and a few bits for garden
If you tried to drill in brick with this model, you used the wrong tool for the job really, which isn't a reason to vote cold.
Drill drivers are better suited to drilling / driving in materials like wood, plastic or metal.
Combi drills (with hammer action) are for brick (and other general drilling / driving).
Otherwise most people would be better off with pretty much any DIY-brand combi rather than this drill-driver. There's no good reason to buy this when you can get something more versatile and at least as well built as this is for the same money or less.
Thank you in advance. I have shelves that have been waiting for months to do and the kids haven't offered lol
Want one that has multi speed, hammer etc. Can be used to drill into Bricks, Wood, Stone and through plaster covered walls to hang shelves, pictures and attach wardrobes to the wall etc.
Sorry for sounding such a noob but DIY isn’t my area of expertise
