Not sure this is the best type of tool to run off batteries. A typical corded one maxes out at 2000W. With a 4ah 20v battery, this is going to have 80wh at the most. If we assume it's using 1000w on average (so half max setting on the corded one), you'll get about five minutes before the battery needs recharging.

That's probably enough for many jobs, but don't expect to be using it for long periods.

Yeah, it’s not ideal, but at this price, it’s a no brainer. I rarely need a heat gun longer than 30 seconds anyway. The Milwaukee one is £100. I have Parkside batteries precisely for this kind of tool that rarely gets used so it doesn’t warrant buying the expensive brand.

Had a few park side tools over the years. They don’t last very well.

I've got about 7 parkside tools & I've only had one fail on me which was the 12v planer, the blade was loose & cut into the body but that was replaced & no problems so far.

Get into both! It's only £22.98 for a parkside battery and charger

Lol, I'm already into Ryobi and Einhell. 2 systems is enough for me.......

Are they not made in the same factory still?

Not from what I can tell. I think it changed when Lidl moved from an 18V range to a "20V" range. Tbf, compatability with the Parkside stuff was the whole reason I bought into einhell, so it was a PiA when they changed!

Battery heat guns are amazing for heat shrinking. Obviously you won't be stripping paint of a whole door with it.
Great price, I regret getting into Einhell rather than this Parkside stuff.

At this price it'll be at least handy for defrosting my shed padlocks next winter. I just have to remember not to leave it in the shed (edited)

Managed to get one today, after basically fighting past resellers.. all stock was gone within a few mins.

Only way to get any parkside items these days is to get there for opening time.. and not a second later ! (edited)

Anyone got any proof of the battery time lasting. My friend has dewalt + 5ah batterys and those batters last not much longer than 1 hour, enough time to charge the next battery. I need one for mobile window tinting.

That would have been a 2ah and battery charger you definately needed the higher watt charger and 4ah if you use this heat gun or you’ll never have time to use the heat gun
