Rest all are just "cost-driven choices " (not taste and experience driven) To be specific - there is a huge difference in Rice and BASMATI Rice. Anyone can name the product Basmati , it doesn't make it Basmati Rice though

So Prof. Rice... what makes basmati, basmati?

This, Kohinoor Gold or Lailah is my rice of choice having given up on years of buying Tilda, due to price.

I don't rate this rice at all. Regret buying a bag. Will stick to Kohinoor and Tilda going forward.

I bought this once. It was £8 from Amazon in 2011 according to my order history. There are 166 servings, which lasted around 5 years, lol!

These days I'm often feeling a bit too lazy / impatient and can be tempted by 2 minute microwave rice; at 35p per packet from Tesco/Aldi it doesn't feel unreasonably indulgent.

Basmati has longer grains. This rice is very popular and fragrant.

what did you not like about the rice? the way it cooked, or the taste or something else

Anjoman Imperial Rice Extra Long Grain Basmati was any eye opener for me. Will pay the extra as long as I can afford to over the cheaper short (and often broken) grains of rice sold as basmati by most supermarkets under their own brand. (edited)

Definitely although not so keen on lailah as it takes ages to wash! Would always buy this over the lailah. (edited)
