sorted byThey claimed G-Suite would be free forever and decided to create workspaces and stop G-Suite. Now everyone with domain names registered with Google have to pay £4.60 per user. I went from £0 to £1500 per year and this was for users in my road where we created a helpme system during Covid.
So once locked in to Google One they can just keep on increasing prices.
Google are NOT the company they used to be - and I was a very big supporter.

Need payment info to sign up so remember to set a reminder to cancel after 3 months.
More widely don't trust any online service, and keep multiple offline backups of your data. I had Google drive and it was tricky to get your data off if you downgrade later (way to do it is with Google takeout). I now use the family one drive at 6x1TB with vouchers at C. £45 pa

I earned 62p since 2018.
Thought I was doing well
How do you manage to get so much through google rewards?
Since 2014 I've been rewarded £138!
gmail and drive stop working
Yes
Yeah, either they'll increase prices, or it'll end up on killedbygoogle.com/ like countless other Google services. Unfortunately they're a company that don't stand by their services or promises.
A bit like they cancelled free google photos storage for less than 16MP shots... As you say they certainly use the old bait you into the system for free then ramp up the prices tactic.
This is the idea of offering these free periods. Not worth the hassle of getting involved in the first place, unless you already intend to subscribe and pay for it.
There was a period of about 6 months I think I didn't get any surveys, I thought battery settings were killing the notification in the background but I think Google just didn't want my information for a bit but now it does. The 65p I got for telling them I went Tesco (and didn't upload my receipt as I couldn't find it) they could see from my GPS data anyway outweighed any club card saving I did in there lol
