I'm looking for recommendations on a really rich full bodied red from sainsburys. Does anyone have any good recommendations please?

Italian- amarone, barolo, chianti. French- CdP, cote du Rhone, margaux, st.emilion. you won't find anything else at supermarkets, you will need to go to Winehouse for superior quality. Anything else not listed above will be a lottery at a supermarket. Even these are sometimes not that rich depending on the year and vineyard they pick from. Quality varies each year. (edited)

Last time I ordered 12 bottles. 7 were substituted.

Great deal. 19 Crimes too much of a Sugar Bomb for me. Their white is awful but again each to their own. I'm a great believer in that the best bottle of wine is the wine you like. Great deal

Must admit we usual go for obscure ones we have never had and been lucky with thrm that they have tasted good. Got a bottles of 19 crimes red to see why others seem to buy it a lot and was not impressed .Nearly bought the Jam shed be one for same reason but read the label and even just by the name it sounded like it would be too sweet for us .

For anyone taking a punt (like nlI did last time), 19 Crimes is quite a sweet red wine. (edited)

19 Crimes is a crime against wine!
Thankfully, there's plenty of others to choose from.

Sweet wines are de rigueur atm, personally 19 Crimes is the most hateful wine I have tasted in a long time. Sugary ribena, I eye anyone who likes it with suspicion and more than a little worry. (edited)

I'm claiming the win on this! - I got my delivery (via £1 saver slot) last night and one of the 11 bottles had smashed in transit, coating the others in red wine. The driver was very apologetic and refunded me for the broken bottle. However, as all the labels on the remaining 10 bottles were 'damaged' he refunded me for 2 more bottles. I woke this morning to a £21.50 refund on a £44.88 spend for 10 bottles! £2.34 per bottle - that'll do nicely

Stonking deal! Never seen this cheaper

Nice just did it on the 19 crimes banished red. 10 bottles £42 bargain

Gone round in circles trying to order this. I seem to confirm a booked slot on deliver saver then it just doesn't progress to a checkout screen. Tap the trolley in corner then it asks to book a slot again. Repeat repeat.. ugh about to give up.

Nice deal if it works for you. I presume you can add some other wines for a mix too. Great value.

I had the same thing. Thought I was losing my marbles... how do you pay for the damn stuff?! It kept saying you could apply the coupon at checkout but you couldn't get to the checkout bit. Finally started working on probably my tenth lap! Nearly £100 worth of wine for £42. Pretty good.

Ordered 12 mixed Sauvignon blanc for less than £4 each delivered. Happy wife, happy life…..Should have enough brownie points until Christmas now 🤞

Yes. Got 8 pino and 8 sauv blanc myself for £48 here. Crazy stuff.

If its 25% off 6, why wouldn't you buy 12? Or is it 25% off when you buy _at least 6_ so you're still getting 25% off all 11?
    Serpico73's avatar
Basically yes. However I seem to remember that f you order 12 Sainsbury's have a habit of saying they are OOS and will provide a sub. Cheers Op ordered for pickup Friday

Just bought ten 19 Crimes for £42, well chuffed 😄 many thanks OP!
  19. cap's avatar
Finally ordered ..maybe the site is crazy busy the past couple hours, just keep trying guys.
Went for 11 as advised above but only 8 of 19crimes, 2 uprising and a wanderer Malbec, just for a little variety for pennies more. 46.75. Avg 4.25/bottle. Not bad at all.
    Cheers op.

Worth pointing out that the bottles don’t all have to be the same. I tend to get 3
bottles of red, 3 Prosecco and 3 whites. Sometimes I’ll add in 3 other wines I’ve never tried before on top.

If you're using this offer again like i am, create a new account (new email or just use the gmail "+" feature) but you have to vary your home address from last time, otherwise it will not let you use the £18 off code....which is fine if you're collecting, not sure if you can change your address after selecting delivery...? (edited)

    What’s the gmail + feature?

I have a very similiar code on a coupon but it says in small print that can't be used when they have 25% off wine ... so is your code a special one that doesn't have this restriction?
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
I used one a couple of weeks ago with that exclusion on it.
Was still accepted for 11 bottles of wine and nothing else.
I think most orders will go through regardless.

Can anyone recommend decent white’s under £10 in this collection?

Walked into Sainsbury's this morning and saw the 25% deal. Filled up with 6 reds and 6 whites - McGuigan Reserve. Tried several others but at 7/6 a bottle less 25% we have found the McGuigan to be very drinkable for the price of a pint. Have tried the Amarone, Barolo, Primitivo, etc. from Sainsbury's and found them somewhat lacking although not a bad price. We get good stuff from a London wine merchant with free delivery in their van for orders of £150. The previously mentioned Peroni deal in Derby has gone. Now £24 for 18 bottles. Took the opportunity to grab a litre of Bells for £17. Happy days!
    cap's avatar
Is that the mcguigan red, showing as 3.75 a bottle? Maybe the cheapest stuff they had.
I was tempted to try one of them but didn't want to make my order too complicated hehe. If so, I might grab some in store if avail.
    Bottoms up!

Heat, same deal at Tesco. Just got 6 bottles of better than usual plonk for £30 from there

  38. mark9915's avatar
Cheers OP that’s 12 various bottles of wine ordered for £78 instead of around £120. It’s the Christmas wine so hopefully some of it will make it beyond Halloween

Collection doesn't seem to be free here... 50p! Edit - looks like it's free Sunday-Wednesday

Can't see where to enter the code. Had this account a couple of weeks but never used it. Might need to ditch it and go for a new one? (edited)
