I thought I was against the mini's until I bought this but it is brilliant. Just very well done and easy to add more games and load workbench. A good guide of what can be done here: amiga500mini.com/

If anyone is waiting for it to get cheaper, good luck with that. I'm waiting for the c64 maxi to be cheap. It's been around alot longer and that ain't happening either. Don't bother depriving yourself over Christmas in the hope of saving as I doubt it'll happen.

This is the cheapest I've seen it. Heat added

Thanks for the useful link @tanked , now I'm tempted to get this, even for this price

Can anyone point folks to a good faq or resource site to answer stuff like, can you upgrade it to A1200, AGA chipset, where you get kickstart ROMs, can you use Xbox controllers, advantages of this over Emu's on Shield etc.?

I was swapping/pirating Amiga discs at school in the early 90's

There are already a number of people creating hard files with sets of software for this.

It already supports ocs, ecs and aga chipsets. So a500, a500 plus and a1200/cd32 compatibility out of the box.

Don't think you can use xbox pads unless you can get a usb Bluetooth receiver to work with it.

Google and youtube are your friend. Unless you are already familiar with the many Amiga specific or retro sites (too many to list off the top of my head)?

Crack it open and change the battery with urgency , do not try to power it up without seeking advice first, you may kill it.

Loved my Amiga as a kid. Having played retro amiga games on emulators, something things are best left in our memories
Apart from chaos engine, that's still great!

Thanks, just ordered... rare occasion that there's stock near me 😁. Bought one for my Dad at launch, now I can have my own. I agree with @tanked, it's nicely done and very easy to add extra games. Make sure to apply the newer firmware update as it irons out a few bugs. (edited)

Is this a Raspberry Pi in an Amiga case?
    Bleugh's avatar
    Bleugh
Kind of, but no. it's a Single Board Computer in an amiga case, with custom firmware and software an dall the relevant legal game licences, packed up as a completed consumer friendly package. You could argue that a modern smart TV is just a fancy monitor with a raspberry pi board in...

A wii u console modded up to run PUAE which is an amiga emulator is about the same price plus you get the benefit of running multiple other emulators

For that sole reason I am out 🙈

That's why I've decided to go for a Steam Deck instead. As much as I like to have one of these, I probably get more use out of the Steam Deck. If this ever drops below £80, I might get one just for nostalgia

Weren't those only a limited launch offer from a few retailers? I've not seen them listed anywhere on this deal or as being a free gift or to buy separately.

Have you seen these 3d printed 32 gb usb sticks that look like a a520 tv monulator instead?

The thing with retro consoles is at the time you/me thought they were amazing and you/me really want to relive the experience......but when I go back to them they just seem so........WTF! If you love your new retro console then good on you. But for me it would just me another thing that would end up being interesting for a few hours then I'd go back to my PS5 and this would end up being stuck in a cupboard. The one thing I really miss about the old consoles though is the really great keyboards. The Amiga's keyboard was excellent, but the BBC computer (IMO) was the best. Keyboards these days have a really low travel distance. What is the keyboard like on this reproduction?
