How much does it cost on average for one of these to run?

I think this one is 40W or 60W, so say its 50W then at 34p Kwh would cost about 1.5p an hour to run. Mine is 120W and can feel the heat coming through after 5 mins and maybe 15 mins to get to full temp, so would imagine this one takes quite a lot longer?

3 times as many heat settings and 3 times the power for £13 more:-

Got mine for £32 before the greedy retailers started upping the prices. But at 120Watts they could save some people a lot, who might be relying on a 2000W heater this winter?

I have this and think for the price it’s very good. There are 6 heat settings and is powered by a plug and no usb. It also has a 2 year guarantee

The one I bought from Aldi 2 years ago was £34.99 and is 160W. It has 9 settings and I find I can turn to a lower temperature within a few minutes to maintain a comfortable temperature.

If this one is only 40W or 60W, I think you'd end up saying they're a waste of time or be wishing you'd paid a bit more for a higher wattage. (edited)

can the controller be unplugged and the throw popped in the washing machine?

The Aldi one can be washed at 30C, but IIRC, it should only be washed a handful of times. You need to bear in mind that it contains electrical wires which can be easily damaged.

Can it be powered by USB?

Yes of course, most usb output devises will output 240 volts and I see no reason why you would have a problem drawing 120 watts or so (edited)

Still some available in Leicester (St.georges retail park) branch. The throws are rated at 75w and seem decent. I couldn't find any heated throws currently selling online for a cheaper or similar price
