The Lumea IPL 7000 Series IPL Hair removal device is now marked down at £193.99 (down from £309.99) on the Philips website.

It is already a really good price for this device that is obviously not cheap but using the code PHILIPSOFF5 you will be able to score a further 5% off taking the price down to £184.30.

As somebody with a very VERY low pain tolerance when it comes to hair removal situations (like i genuinely hate doing it) , I tried this as my mum has it and it was quite good in terms of pain scale and most importantly I am usually incredibly red after mechanical hair removal, but not so much after using this one.

If anyone is wondering what the difference is between this and commercial machines:
    - This is IPL. Modern hair removal is Nd:YAG, Alexandrite, Diode or a combination of these. In non-technical terms, IPL sprays energy at the skin, compared to newer machines which target the energy.
    - The maximum output of this is 6.5 joules. Commercial hair removal starts around 20 and can go 30+. A trained user can adjust for the best results for the area and skin type. Results will therefore be better, quicker and much longer lasting.
    - Newer commercial machines can be used on all skin types.
    - IPL can hurt like hell, whereas newer commercial machines can be painless.
    - A lot of newer machines are contactless, so don't require messy gels.

I've been told it doesn't work on brown skin

I can confirm as a brown person it does work. Commitment is necessary though

Is it really worth more than double the price of the one posted though?

We had the best model they have at this point from try before you buy, but it doesn’t work at all, white skin, dark hair, which should be perfect for this and absolutely no change following few different areas and treatments

Save yourself money and go and see professional one (edited)

Oddly enough, the discount code still half works to make it £215.65.
    Agreed that makes it expired!

IPL does that help with rosacea? Is that a different type of machine?

No it doesn’t, IPL is laser hair removal. Kills the hairs at the root and they gradually grow back less and less, until eventually hardly at all. I have one, they are good

IPL will be safe for this, yes. It will hurt if you hit the sensitive pink skin with the setting you're using for the buttocks, though. Hair doesn't really grow on the really sensitive part, it is more a case of aiming carefully!
