Double bill of action features starring Sylvester Stallone. In 'First Blood' (1982) disturbed Vietnam veteran John Rambo (Stallone) spends his days wandering from town to town, searching out his old service colleagues. When he resists a local sheriff's attempts to make him leave town, he is arrested for vagrancy. While in prison Rambo is forced to endure the abuse of a sadistic deputy and relive his traumatic experiences as a POW in Vietnam, until he escapes and takes to the woods, relying on his old army skills to survive an escalating manhunt that erupts into all-out war. In 'Rambo: Last Blood' (2019), still haunted by his violent past, Rambo embarks on another revenge mission when his niece, Gabrielle (Yvette Monreal), is kidnapped by a Mexican cartel headed by brothers Victor and Hugo Martinez (Oscar Jaenada and Sergio Peris-Mencheta). After venturing across the border, Rambo is aided in his search by reporter Carmen Delgado (Paz Vega), whose sister has also been abducted by the cartel. When his initial attempt to confront the cartel fails, Rambo lures them back to his Arizona ranch for an explosive showdown.

    What a strange combination, just ignoring 2, 3 & 4?

First Blood is an absolute classic. So many countless movies have been made after that trying to copy the same idea.

I though 2008 Rambo was violent then I saw Last Blood...it's brutal...Rambo going to town on peoples skulls with a claw hammer and snapping their bones out of their body. Crazy stuff.

First Blood is a proper film, the rest are 80s cheese. Rambo: First Blood Part II is the only other one to watch which is a full on mega 80s cheese fest. If you like Rambo II then watch the awful cheesy Commando starring Arnie. I actually watched Rambo: First Blood Part II with my friend and his Dad who was also my Sunday school teacher, when Rambo said f.you in the film I thought his Dad would be annoyed but he liked the film. Never mix religion and life is my advice.

Everyone who says that Rambo Last Blood is the worst should really rewatch Rambo 3. The entire franchise is great either way, every film is very different.
