The best thing about this Sainsbury's voucher workaround (which i've successfully used many times), is that iirc, it's a better cashback % than the original voucher was.
Kudos to the genius who originally spotted this

Anyone know if you can use the supermarket ones to buy fuel, I'm sure it says not in the t&cs but has anyone tried?
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
    Yes for Morrisons
    No for Sainsburys (edited)

There you go I activated via the link shown in this post. Then purchased via the TCB app even though it's not showing on there as yet. I just hope AR has a bonus offer today as well?
    enclavemarine's avatar
Slightly off topic question but are you IPhone or android? How do you get your TCB app in dark mode?

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I may pass on the bonus offer this time around. I have unused GCs for both of us from every bonus offer going back to December. Need to use some before I buy any more.

You can always sell them on cardyard. As if the retailer goes bust any giftcards you hold with them will probably be worthless

You win the TCB post race this round

Was the charge for using a credit card issue resolved?
    martinm1's avatar
Yes also fixed for chase debit card. Just got my 1% reward for today's topgiftcard purchase. So my £10 Asda spend will only cost me £7.24. but if you shop at Sainsbury's then the savings even more

PLEASE NOTE: if you purchase your gift card with a credit card it will be treated as a cash transaction. You will incur interest to the value of gift card immediately and possible a fee. As I found to my cost when i bought one at the last such promotion ..£3.99 Tesco MasterCard fee and in order to avoid interest on my£100 gift card purchase i had to clear entire card🙈🙈☹️☹️ 3 weeks b4 bill came to me. Thereby utterly defeating the point of using it to defer payment , wiping out the £2.50 cash back and leaving me £1.49 down, less 2 hours of my life on the phone and several grey hairs 'up'. #neveragain (edited)

Check other threads on this, there's one in Discussions where the TCB rep said to contact them for a refund of the charges. I used Amex and there was no cash fee charge though. (edited)

"Gift cards purchases are also excluded."
Does that mean if I get an Asda card and use it on my shop I will lose the £3.00 cashback, and be 50p worse off?
    fabsaver's avatar
Yes it specifically states further down the screen on the Asda TCB page:
"What will stop me getting cashback?"
The purchase of a gift card/Using a gift card to complete your purchase.

Asda on TCB best avoided anyway, as they use any excuse to avoid paying out. Paying with any gift cards means they won't pay out. If any part of your order is changed following initial purchase they won't pay out, this includes if they make substitutions. If your order value is deemed below minimum due to VAT they won't pay out. I'm sure there are many more weird and wonderful reasons they could come up with...

I'm going for Sainsbury's - had 9 £5 harvester vouchers but hadn't been for ages so just spent last week in Vintage Inns (early mothers day treat). It hardly made a dent on my bill so yes groceries sounds more sensible. Thanks and sorry to the lady at Vintage Inns who had to scan the 9 QR codes!!
    pingsteruk's avatar
We stopped getting harvester vouchers because the codes don't seem to scan at our local one and invariably someone has to type the numbers in at a till and is too much faff to deal with five or six vouchers at the end of a meal. It's a shame there isn't way to condense multiple vouchers into one, but then people would be less likely to lose / forget them... which is probably how these 'free money' deals can afford to be run.

Started to use TopGiftCards more than Airtime Rewards for my Sainsburys shop, not only is it more cashback, but for whatever reason, I can no longer stack multiple gift cards of the same value to a single order.

So in the past, I'd make 5x £10 AR purchases so it would count towards 5 of my monthly challenges, but as I can't do that anymore, I've been using them a lot less lately because of that change.
    Mooney_70's avatar
Separate gift card purchases do count towards your monthly bonus challenges on AR. That's why I bought 3 separate ones earlier today for Morrisons. (edited)

Just been refused an Amazon card for the first time using my Asda topgift card in store. Told them I had done it before. They just point blank refused.

    Morning everyone

Just to let you know I have the team looking into why this isn't showing on the app for you.
In the meantime, the offer is being promoted on both the mobile and desktop sites

A very quick update to say we've now sorted this on the app so you can also take part in the bonus there too. If you still have issues though, it's worth closing re-opening the app and it should refresh the home page for you.

    lanceuppercut's avatar
Is that just activating the promo via the app, or actually purchasing the giftcards via the app as I've always done it on a computer browser but if it works in app without any weirdness or making sure I clear cookies etc, then I'll do that in future.

Marvellous. These TCB bonus cashback offers are coming thick & fast lately. Just ordered a £20 M&S card with 4.75% cashback, visit has recorded, & a £2.50 bonus. £3.45 in total for minimal effort. Thanks OP, have a bit of a thermal increase. 🔥
    Katrina_Massey's avatar
I did the same. Great offer!

Was about to order something on sale at adidas and thought it would be worth checking if there were any TCB deals on gift cards.

Ordered and saved a few extra quid. Thanks @radical

Love these wee offers! Buy vouchers for groceries that we would have bought anyway and the cashback usually goes into savings or investments for the future. Funny to think that I'll be sitting eating an old person dinner in a (sensibly priced) restaurant at some point in the future thanks to HUKD

Outstanding. I always buy an Asda gift card as I can also use the BLC discount there too. So for me, this £10 spend comes to £7.34 after the £2.50 cashback and the 0.16p cashback. I can then benefit by getting 10% off at Asda with BLC, so that's really an outlay of £6.34 for a £10 shop. And then there's the Asda app which gets you a few more pennies too. I also know that Morrisons employees can benefit in the same way with either petrol or in shop utilising their 15% off employee discount too. Gotta love TCB!
