Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series finds the Targaryens ruling over the Seven Kingdoms – and on the brink of a civil war within their own house. Prior to the birth of a son, King Viserys sent shockwaves through the kingdom and declared his daughter, Rhaenyra, his heir. Once a healthy boy entered the picture, plans were afoot to make sure she would never sit on the Iron Throne. Now, with schemes hatched on both sides – and the kingdom in the balance – viewers will see the house that dragons built and learn how they tore it all down.

Really nice discount being a tenner off.

Has anyone seen this? I was tempted but then saw the makers do some interview saying it was all about women standing up to toxic masculinity and it ruined the initial hype for me. Worth picking up??

It’s superb. Scratches that itch GoT left, although doesn’t repair the damage done by how that ended.

Watched it on NOW and really enjoyed it. Interesting cast twist in the middle

I'm seven episodes in and LOVE it!
My only complaint is how bloody dark it is much of time. I have the 4k release, and find myself struggling to see what the heck is going on.

The show might be recorded. bit too dark. However, the TV matters more than having 4K. Sales method don't help. If you go to most TV shops, they will have the TVs set to highest dynamic mode and they will be showing cartoon or brightly coloured flowers or the like. Customers come in and buy the one that shows the brightest and most striking colours.

Once you take it home and watches something more normal, let alone something that is supposed to happen at night, the story becomes very different. The TVs ability to show subtle difference or resolve into the greys and darker greys is what becomes important but is not what was shown in the shops.
