    Love the juxtaposition of a yellow sticker on a hugely expensive bottle of fizz..... hahahaha.... and the partners wonder where Waitrose have gone so wrong that their bonuses have been shredded this year. Never mind lovies drown your sorrows in this........

    Surely most people drink to get sloshed. If a £4 bottle is unpalatable you might buy an £8 bottle. But an £80 bottle, seriously what is the point?

    I’d disagree, most people don’t. For one, a £80 bottle will taste nothing like a £4 bottle. So either a) you appreciate the difference and drink to enjoy, or b) you’ve got a lot of dosh that you simply don’t care. It’s also a status thing and something you might buy once so you can say can try it

    This stuff is served so cold that you’d barely taste the difference between this & a £20-£30 bottle of pop. It’s marked down a lot, but obviously the rrp is ridiculous. A really, really good bottle of red wine might be worth it, but this… it’s just for showing off. I’d buy it at £20-£30, no more.

    I cannot disagree more. I compared this one to another chilled bottle from Waitrose and the other one was tasteless.
    I would not recommend Waitrose essential Sparkling water from the chiller but it sure is much cheaper
