That coaxial movement is a real issue, I know a dealer with 6 pieces at Omega , all with the 8800 coaxial movement and he's been told it's a 9 month wait to get them back...I've had 2 of these myself and one spent 3 months at Omega being fixed...be cautious.

Hence why it's very good to ensure you get from an AD. The timelines for repairs across the board are insane for watches right now.

It is meant to be a lucrative career option right now as the demand is so high. Sadly I have neither the patience or the dexterity. Would love to be a watch maker.

Not had issues with my own coaxial movements so hopefully this one will be the same.

the govn must lover watch fanatics, pocketing twenty per cent VAT on such high prices, retailers probably take a third to a half... they probably actually cost a hundred quid or two to make.

Yes hand assembled movements are definitely a hundred pounds.
And finely polishing 904L Stainless steel takes seconds and no skill.

You have to have spindly little arms to make a 41mm case look anything but a toy watch.

Huh? 41mm is classed as a large watch, and definitely looks and feels it.

IMO, it's the thickness that makes it big (13.7mm) rather than the width anyways.

If anything, I'd say this watch is the opposite and can often look too large on many people. (edited)

Don’t understand how these watches got up to that price bracket. Could get the exact same reference for £3500 a year or two ago. Rip off tactics from Omega.

And thought this was hotukdeals.... Nobody I know can afford this ridiculous price for a watch.. If this was £300 then it would be a deal?

    It is.

I am on here and I have one as well as a Tudor.

Don't need to be poor to be on HUKD. It isn't all about Farmfoods deals.

Love the outrage and sense of entitlement from some people here about how much profit Omega should make. Don't like it, don't buy it. An Omega watch is not a necessity for most and if demand falls sufficiently, prices will follow.

In the meantime, please look up the concept of "Veblen goods".

If you spend a bit less you won't have to get it serviced every other year, my casio is still going strong from decades ago!

I have a number of casioaks and yes they run really well. Love my aqua Terra and my seamaster.

It's a good job different people find enjoyment in different things. Cars like watches are to be enjoyed. If you get enjoyment out of something and can afford it then why not.

Can also add mobile phones to that now. Most could do what they do with a £200 phone, but a lot pay a lot more.

Much prefer those who buy these watches and wear them rather than some who buy expensive watches as an investment and never enjoy them. (edited)

I bought this for £3200 6 years ago - good to know it's gone up in value

I've just turned mine in for a service - I have to wait six months to get it back which is a bit of a shame.

Wow. You spend this much on a watch, accept that you'll have to pay an arm and a leg to get it serviced, and then they need half a year to do the job???
Nice as this man-jewelery status signaller is, I'm fast losing interest.

Still using my 2005 sea master.  I think it was about £1200 then and it’s been serviced twice.  All on club card vouchers!

They lost their Omega brief, like quite a few other independents, hence they've been outing their stock so highly HIGHLY unlikely they'll ever have any new stock again. (edited)
