Don't need a US account, you can literally go to your profile online and change to US, redeem code then change it back to UK (GB) and download it.

This is how I do it, it’s important to point out that doing this method will result in any funds before the region switch being lost.

That will happen with child accounts attached if you try to switch to US. Open a US account if you want the game, it's safer and easier. You can have up to 8 accounts on a console (all accounts can play all games) and the US account will just be like another profile which you can ignore once you've redeemed the code.

I changed my account to America to redeem code but now can’t find uk in the region list to change it back. Any ideas?

Theres a sort of weird, mostly alphabetical list of regions that is then random in places, that's where you're struggling i bet, look through the list carefully and you'll see uk amongst the messed up list (edited)
