The Marino 850 XL AirBeam® is an 8-man inflatable tent, which utilises a Vis a Vis; two bedrooms positioned at either end of the tent and a large central living area in the middle. The Marino features our new Sentinel Active Plus Fabric (4,000mm HH) giving you peace of mind that your tent will perform come rain or shine. Other great features include pre-angled AirBeams® which provide greater head space within the tent. The offset door configuration allows easy access whatever the weather, and with the benefit of a rain safe canopy this either adds additional shade during those warm sunny days or helps to send the rain around the door on those less sunny days.

Features:

  • Pre-angled beams for effective bracings against winds
  • Inflatable AirBeam® structure for fast pitch time
  • Vango PowerFlex Fiberglass poles for strong, light and reliable structures

How does this compare to the Berghaus 6.1 and 8.1?

I posted this in another tent deal...

"If you've got a go outdoors nearby it's worth a call to them to see if they have one set up outside so you can have a look around and decide for yourself. I went to look at at hi gear, vango and berghaus tent a couple of years ago. Vango disappointed, but the hi gear surprised me, a friend had told me they were rubbish but it seemed really well put together, beams well protected, decent quality zips, ground sheet felt nice and thick. But I got a good deal on a berghaus so went for that."

What got me looking at those was this tent. Also I enquired to vango about spares for it because I couldn't find this tent listed as compatible with any of the spare air beams for sale. All I got back was an email back with the links I'd sent them telling me to check on there which didn't fill me with confidence.

The berghaus 6.1 is on offer for £459 at the minute (edited)

I don't know if it's just bad photos but this looks a little claustrophobic compared to other tents this size like vangos or the Berghaus XL range

It is, I have the pole version of this tent and although the rooms are decent size (I would say more 6 but 8 at a squeeze) the living space is not suitable for a family of 8 if it were raining outside. I have been in other vangos with lots of windows and space but as this is a tunnel design it is limited. I will be looking for possible extensions to give more communal space for my family of 6 next time we use this.

Heat for the price but as others have said I think for an actual 8 man this will feel small.

This porch can be attached to the side to give you a bit more room - we have a poled Vango similar to this tent and the extra porch is invaluable:

Are the bedroom walls fixed on this tent? Or can they be taken out to give two bigger bedrooms as it were?

Can't seem to see anything anywhere to confirm or deny.

On the longleat 800XL you can, I presume this will be the same. There's a curtain hooked in the middle of big bedroom.
