    Thanks. Just ordered one.
Can anyone suggest best place to buy beans please?

If you want the ‘best’ for espresso / black coffee, sign up to a coffee subscription service where they send you freshly roasted coffee beans on a regular basis. If you’re going to destroy your coffee with milk then buy 1kg bags from Amazon or Costco. (edited)

Tempted with the bambino plus bundled with the dose control pro so that I can upgrade the grinder at a later stage. Any ideas if this would be better or stick to the barista express instead?

Separate is good as if one breaks then it's easy to replace. The grind quality is the same between barista express and dose control pro, with the sage grinder pro being a fair bit better.

Also Bambino plus has the auto froth function which is awesome. The Barista express is manual frothing. I personally have a Bambino Plus and a Sage Grinder Pro, which is an awesome combo and can't be beat for value for money. I did tons of research first and that was the outcome. Good luck! (edited)

Don’t bother buying the dosing funnel if you’re buying the Touch. It comes with one but it isn’t listed in the accessories

What’s the difference between the Express™ Impress and the touch or pro?
    thorpe's avatar
    thorpe
Express - entry level "all in one" (grinder, brewer and milk wand).
Impress - as above, but (edited) tries to help beginners by having a feature to help get your dosing and tamping correct (how much coffee is physically in the dose, then how hard you compress it)
Pro - as per Express, but you get digital control of your grind duration, not just size. This should give identical doses.
Touch - as per Pro, but you get an automated milk wand so you don't need to worry about how to foam milk and it memorises a load of pre-made drinks and your favorite settings.

The Impress is quite new so I'm not 100% on its performance vs the Pro, it may just be a "middle option" to bait people into going for the Pro for just a little more money.

Just keep in mind these are hobby machines, if you've not made espresso before, check out James Hoffman on youtube, videos on dialling in coffee settings may make you reconsider. These only produce amazing coffee if you learn how to set them correctly. But when you do it is amazing.

Edit - updated info on Impress based on this (edited)

Do not buy Sage, when you need spare parts they will not sell them to you.

Everything goes wrong eventually, if your happy to bin it when you need some 50p rubber seal and buy a new one fine, if you expect very expensive investments to have consumable spare parts available this is not the brand for you.

Ours is currently leaking water at the bottom of the tank and tripped out the electrics. The rubber seal at the bottom of the tank is just worn from years of use, but they won’t sell you a spare.

This is the expensive top of the range one as well, £600 machine in bin as they refuse to sell owners 50p seal.

I wonder if the EU right to repair laws will help with this issue in the future. Even if it means us UK folk getting parts in from the EU

Thanks to OP for the code. My setup has arrived and can’t wait to get started. Waiting on my Beanz subscription to arrive now. I have to credit Sage customer service too. They allowed me to return the dose control pro and swap it for the smart grinder pro as they were the same price

What’s the advantage of buying grinder and espresso separate over an all in one?
