Can I add this to my Vodafone Home Broadband Router ?

You should be able to. You turn this device on and then you connect it by wifi to your existing router. If your existing wifi router is on the ground floor. Put this on the 1st floor above the existing router. You will then have better connection upstairs. Or if the gaming pc is upstairs. Connect the ethernet cable from the pc to this and it should give a better gaming experience. If your wifi router is vod123. this will show as vod123-1

Will this create mesh WiFi or you need to connect with mesh WiFi router, want one of those mesh WiFi to use for some of the stuff, they're expensive so looking for cheaper options, any suggestions?

I have this working with Open Mesh.

My router is a TP Link AX3000 which comes in at the bottom corner of my 11 m by 11 m house.

We found upstairs coverage was awful. So we purchase this and have it in the middle of the house (also downstairs). It covers the whole house for range now.

We get about 1GB download, in the far diagonal opposite upstairs it runs at 250-350 with this set up.

My son runs a game PC upstairs but we keep that on a CAT cable for max speed.

So for general house use I rate this, plus it looks a lot better that the Lit Fibre MESH boxes we did have that seem to have a range of about 2 feet …. !

Hi all, I live in a townhouse with some dead spots from my very basic virgin media router. Would this help with coverage throughout? Or would it only be suitable for the top or bottom level only?

I'm on Virgin and ended up buying another router and plagging it into the Virgin Unit.

This will make the wifi signal better from the home unit.
Then put the AC1900 somewhere else in the house and connect to the new router above.

This price is what it is mostly going for.
I put one of these in my Dad's house. Works a treat.
I set it to reboot once a week just in case.
It also works with the TP-Link OneMesh (Not Deco) mesh system. (edited)

Are you sure it works with the deco system? If I go to add a deco unit on the app this isn’t there as a compatible device.

I'm on a fibre provider (Trooli) that only lets me use their own router, which is on 'EasyMesh'. I have no idea whether I can use this with it. I'm getting stressed because I really need an extender because the range of their 'Technicolor' router is really bad, like barely gets out of the lounge bad.

I had issues with a hidden DHCP server using tplink. This maybe fixed on these, but I'd do some research first if it is going to be an issue.

I went with Devolo magic 2 and so far I was impressed enough to buy another set.

I have never seen this for less. I have seen it go up for a few days and then it comes back down to £39.99. it was £56 a couple of days ago.

I bought a couple of these before Christmas to complement my AX73 mesh router. They work very well.

It's a very useful repeater, especially if you need ethernet port to connect devices with no wifi connection like my cctv recorder.

Would this work plugged into an 4-plug extension socket, or does it need to be plugged directly into the socket on the wall?
    Zek's avatar

Works fine on a 4 plug extension. Mine is slightly different but blocks another extension socket due to size (width), but it's not a problem (edited)

Much cheaper than the excellent BT Whole Home mesh system - but is it as competent in a large house with thick walls?

Will this work with three home broadband router? My parents are in a barn conversion and the signal struggles with the stone walls. Anything to boost it out of their living room would be nice
    Smartguy1's avatar
    Smartguy1
The problem won't be the stone walls. It will be the poor router the ISP's give out such as Technicolour, Zyxel etc. ISP's don't give out £150 routers for a 12 month internet package.

My ISP gave me a Zyxel router. 75mbps fibre at the time. Had that in the living room where the router was. I have a 4 bed detached house. The farthest bedroom away from the router was less than 1mbps ! Bought a Netgear R7000 which gave me around 40mbps in the same room.

I now have 300mbps coming to the house, a TPLink AX73 and 3 tplink mesh extenders. I only really need two but I have my office hard wired to my dining room below which is then wireless to the router at the other side of the house. One extender on the landing and one in the kitchen. I have over 200mbps all over the house.

In a larger property you really need to be spending around £150 for your router and then add extenders where needed.

I have two of the ones posted. My daughter was so impressed with my set up she bought the same router as me and two of these extenders. She got lucky with the router as it was on offer at Box for£102 and I got Currys to price match. (edited)

Does anyone know if this will
    Work with virgin hub 3?
    SurfX's avatar
    SurfX
It should do as all it does is pick up the wifif rom your Hub.

You can use the WPS button on the Hub 3 and the Extender, or set it up manually.
