From what I understand is the ships last cruise was cancelled, the ship has been seen in Southampton being worked on, seems it’s been repaired and now a huge rush to fill it for Tuesday so a one off!

The top end suits with Butlers go for thousands and thousands of pounds, I am actually in Southampton now, I came off a cruise on Monday and I’m back on one in the morning.

Why have I not booked this cruise myself?well I watched some YouTube videos and the type of stuck up pompous people I saw in the videos put me off, they can stick their formal dressing up games it’s not for me, I don’t go on holiday to wear work clothes, I am happy on the wonderful casual MSC cruises and my fourth MSC Virtuosa cruise in the last couple of months. I have met wonderful people, yes there are a few pompous yacht club wannabees but the real people are in the main part of the ship!

Anyway in the spirit of sharing I posted the deal, if you feel you are pompous enough or stuck up enough to give it a go I am sure you will fit in well, having seen the glum faces of the most boring looking stuck up, up their own r ses individuals in videos of the ‘elite’ grill lounge for Queens Grill suites and above, I certainly would not give them my company.

Back cruising on the gorgeous and most wonderful and beautifully engineered Virtuosa in the morning full of happy souls

Virtuosa is a beautiful ship, but the overall experience felt like Butlins on the seas

Any snooty or stuck up members get the deal?

I’m abroad a real ship, just had lunch at the zoo, now in the tropical bar hanging about with cocktails, like being home again, going to be a very wild weekend (edited)

Managed to get balcony (sheltered) for wife and mother-in-law for £598 total. I will be at work but a fantastic deal if you can just drop everything and go. Went on QM2 last year and was a step up from P&O, particularly the formal afternoon teas. Caters for everyone. You choose who you mix with and where you go. Same goes for all cruises. There is space even with 3500 passengers!

Sorry I didn’t mean to put anyone off, but as said this is an absolute STEAL even if to have a taster cruise so you know who you would not cruise with again!

It will really make you appreciate MSC cruises and freedom, on the Queen Mary 2 you get a dress code leaflet with photos of what types of clothing is acceptable, it’s pretty much a Moss Bros catalogue, they even rent the stuff out on the ship.

    Hope it helps someone!

There's snotty people on every cruise ship not just cunard, we got looked at on the virtuosa as we didn't have the penguin suits on on formal night , I actually found the virtuosa boring after a couple of nights entertainment wise, p & o and marella are much better (edited)

    For anyone who missed this!

Just got off the MSC Virtuosa ship yesterday, was a 3 night trip from hell booze cruise bender, be warned if the trip is a short one and includes a Sat and Sun it will be totally different to a weeks cruise.

Anyway, got home yesterday and a couple of the forum members had been on with me, they had even done the 3 nighter before and I had done the 3 nighter before that last week, anyway one is stying on for the trip that left yesterday for a 6 nighter to Las Palmas and also doing the return the 6 nighter return leg Las Palmas to Southampton, the other is flying out to meet him and doing the return leg, I just decided to do the same so I am flying out on Saturday to meet the ship and cruise back, booked on MSC USA website, you can call them as well, cost for a solo passenger is:

    Cruise $198 USD
Port fees and taxes $150 USD
    Tips $70 USD

I also bought Easy drinks package $294
    Wifi package $53
    But these are optional

You just need your flights out there, I could only get a business class flight with BA at over £450, business class on these routes is a total waste of money as its the same 3 seats but with the centre blocked off, you get in the airport lounges but I am BA Gold and get there free anyway even if in economy, anyway that arrives at 12.50pm from LGW so just need a 25 min cab ride to the ship from the airport. Another forum member is flying out the night before with Veuling airlines and staying a night in a hotel.

It may suite someone, I have always had the Premium drinks package but don't drink champagne or cocktails so been a bit of a waste of money, but with seascanner you only ever get the choice of nothing or premium.

Other drinks package available prices are:
    Premium £305
    Easy Plus £305
Easy £234 (includes bottled beer, draught beer, house wines and spirits, soft drinks, teas coffees etc, that will do me!

Still cabins available and a CHEAP cruise if you can survive without a drinks package but will be hot!

It's the 7th one down and priced for SOLO travellers as are the others msccruisesusa.com/cru…ies
