I’ve flown with Jet Blue to New York from Gatwick
    In March.

The Flight, Inflight entertainment, Food and snacks are great and also plenty of leg room, I would 100% use them again

Don’t forget the free booze and soft drinks 🍺 (edited)

And then add on the bull resort fees, extra taxes and factor in the 250 dollar cash mandatory deposit they demand.. NY are ripping punters off big time these days

50129809-W9aTy.jpgThe view from the top of the empire state building at night, is one of the most unreal moments in life you'll ever have. Also equally impressive is the view from the top of the rockerfella centre over central park.

I recommend anyone who goes to squeeze their budget and get a helicopter ride from the dock. You get to fly around the statue of liberty and Manhatten in a glass bottom chopper it's mental lol.

give empire state a miss- summit OV is miles better.

As for the helicopters, numerous deaths over the years and an absolute nuisance to locals. Avoid at all costs and save yourself £400.

last time I was there a few years ago, I bought a 3 day New York pass which allows you entry (fast track) to many places ,plus a 2.5 hours Manhattan cruise and bike hire to ride inside central park .. it is possible to go there on a budget if you do a bit of search for cheaper hotels outside Manhattan and use the subway to move about
.. there are local pizza places in Manhattan which are very nice and good value , I had a great time there and never felt less safe than where I live in west London (edited)

DHS Statement on the Lifting of Title 19 Requirements
Beginning May 12, 2023, DHS will no longer require non-U.S. travelers entering the United States via land ports of entry and ferry terminals to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide related proof of vaccination upon request. DHS intends to rescind these Title 19 travel restrictions in alignment with the end of the Public Health Emergency and the termination of the Presidential Proclamation on air travel.

Went here not too long ago, while the sights were great, we definitely paid for it in the hidden hotel taxes. We stayed at a nice place but the amount of crazy/mental people around the streets was enough to make my partner feel uneasy. It was great to get off the BucketList but would avoid in future.

Didn't see many, most were from Gatwick. BA sometimes does it for like £330 from Heathrow (not at the moment though)

I would usually agree with that, but in this case it's more than £100 more booking direct

    Great price!

Been a few times - most recently last September.

The city still has a certain energy and if you're never been it will be quite exciting for sure. I was sad to see so many forgotten and homeless people around on my last trip ... it is a really hard city. Blood expensive as well with the crappy rates.

The High Line is well worth doing if you do go - a break from the madness at street level.

I’ve been there many times thoroughly enjoyed it but that was about 10 years ago. If you’ve never been then you should definitely add it to your bucket list. Alas I can’t see myself ever visiting again as I have so much of the rest of the world I want to see.

I doubt it's changed in 10 years. New York is like being in the 80s.
