Managed to fill up with diesel at Costco over the weekend, £1.479, and that's premium diesel!! How the supermarkets get away with the prices is scandalous

Voted hot 🔥, personally I won't use it because their diesel is dearer than I can get it elsewhere, but if your local is priced competitively then this of course will be handy.

Depends on the price of shopping & the price of fuel.

A £2.50 saving? Not sure shopping at Morrisons would save that much money than shopping elsewhere.

Voted HOT for those who can pick out the savings on the shopping. (edited)

Should be cold, supermarkets inflating the price for far too long.

I avoid Morrisons diesel fuel as it has caused many problems with filter on my Nissan Juke, too many additives!

So that brings petrol down to £1.45 a litre for us - no thanks Morrisons you’ve been ripping the Michael since COVID!

5p off what though ? It does not matter how much off, what percentage off. What matters is what the final cost is per ltr and this is not indicated as such it's all fluff....

How can they state the final cost when fuel prices fluctuate daily?

Morrisons is currently cheapest locally at 141.7p, compared toAsda at 142.7p, and Esso and Shell at 144.9p, so effectively 136.7p with 5p discount.

Only good if you buy stuff on promotion as Morrisons became one of the most expensive supermarkets starting to rival even Waitrose. I think I will combine the spending with some offers from Checkoutsmart, Shopmium, and Greenjin and pay for the fuel with the discounted gift card (4% off via Airtime Rewards and many other employee benefits schemes).
This is the only way to make their fuel competitive.

Won't touch Morrisons these days with a barge pole. Rip off prices for food and fuel and this latest gimmick proves the point as they have just lifted the fuel prices so any potential saving is lost.
    Avoid

Get 5p off but pay more than 10% for same product in the supermarket. Morrisons unless they start to compete with other businesses are going to struggle soon. Rip off

Feel as though this offer may have been ok 10 years ago, but now with current prices saving 5p a litre is hardly worth the effort. Also as people have put, their prices have gone up massively so unless you shop at Morrisons anyway and need petrol and their petrol price is competitive it isn’t going to be of use. Still thank you to the op for posting

The last time this was on, during the promotion the price of petrol at Morrisons went up 5p from the previous weeks and then dropped 5p following the promotion. As i stopped for petrol every 2 weeks approximately at the same Morrisons. Always compare the price to other local stations !

Unless you can scrape £35 worth of offers from the end of aisle shelves, you'll be spending at least £5 more on your shopping just to save £2.50 on fuel.
