Old Pulteney Twelve Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl £24 Sainsbury's

Best of the bunch as regards supermarket aged whisky deals. The Old Pulteney 12 is a personal favourite and imho fantastic value at £24. Only other offers worth considering might … Read more

I can do without their advertising hyperbola - putting all the "matured by the sea" nonsense aside, it's actually quite a good "single" entirely characteristic of the "highland" malt tradition - deserves to be far better known, and more highly respected.. Although not an "instinctive" whisky drinker find the highland singles more palatable than the Lowland varieties, less "challenging" than the Isla malts and more complex than the "Strathspey" tradition - buy this with confidence, at this price it's unlikely to disappoint, and is a perfect introduction to "grown up" "off-mainstream" offerings. Certainly an awful lot better than your usual £12.99 "gutrot" blends, worthy of comparison to Glenmorangie - even if you don't think so. at £24 it's not an absolute disaster if it isn't exactly to your taste (although frankly I'd be surprised if anybody could find something disagreeable about it) I'll keep an eye out for this next time I'm up at the supermarket! Voted hot

Just got one. Excellent for this price.

A very fine single malt!

Scheppach COMBI drill bundle set - £99.99 Delivered @ Aldi

Einhell is another cheap battery system and the tools are excellent.

Personally I'd go dewalt XR or LXT (prefer XR as the range of tools is huge). Yes it'll cost more initially for drill, battery and charger. An extra £30 for a 796 set plus £10 for better quality bits and screws! However when you come to needing additional tools, you've already bought the expensive stuff and you can buy bare tool. Works out better value in the long run IMHO.

What has Aldi drill bits got to do with this deal? This isn’t an Aldi product, scheppach are sold everywhere as it’s a proper brand not a cheapo Aldi own brand.

I thought it was expensive considering Ferrex drills are £20 and £30 for battery and charger making it £50. Surely other bits are not worth £50? Also Ferrex range is very extensive and once you have battery and charger rest of the bare tools are dirt cheap. but just my way of thinking unless I'm missing something here.

Yeah dude it's a pile of crap
