You mean the things you gave to your bank and then pay them to make money from what little, if any I'm guessing, money you have.

Yup, not many quit while ahead.20k is nice though.

    Big rant ahead!

Like most I didn't keep records at the start but poker sites literally threw money at people to play.

Mansion, who sponsored Spurs had £100 freerolls 5 times a day with 5-10 people in them. The idea was to spread the word - I told nobody. I also won a full hospitailty trip to the England v Paraguay WC match in Germany in 2008. I won poker leagues on Betfair and was well placed on Pokerstars Battle of the Planets. I started with zero on Paddy Power and won enough to play live 3 times in Dublin, bought myself a new TV and withdrew cash. I never EVER had to show any documents for this but I think playing in the IPO were you had to show your passport (which I never) verfied me. I played in London 3 times and won a trip to Prague which was cancelled so they gave me £1k in compensation. All this was all micro/ low stakes (less than $5 stakes) and even freerolls as I'd never the bankroll or balls to move higher.

Best I done was win the Dirty Dozen three times on I-Poker for €2k each time. Twice on Betfair and once on William Hill. Conditions were you had to win 12 player x 4 games in a row. It had higher rake but it was filled with the worst fish (bad players) imaginable.

    43933081-gnGxk.jpg

    43933081-DNniC.jpg
n my final year I broke even. Things that took me years to work out on my own like pot odds were learnable in a 20 minute Youtube video so my competition got better. Decent freerolls dried up and even became freerolls to get into freerolls. Rake became higher. It was still beatable at 20% but then more luck based games were introduced like Spin and Go's. I was also banned from the Betfair forum which I loved, that one hurt me.

While I still played poker, I Matched Betted for a while. I didn't make that much from it but again site's closed that loophole. I gave up after getting a 20/1 "winner" (when I wanted it to lose if you know matched betting) and had to wait 3 months on my winnings on Ladbrokes. I sent every verification possible and they still wanted more. They fobbed me off many times not wanting to pay out as I had an account previously with them (even though I'd never withdrawn). I got the money eventually but that was a lesson.

While I done OK, my son developed a gambling problem. It was more a cry for help as his marriage was failing but still it was my time to give up. He went to Gamblers Anonymous and I got a block on gambling sites. I'd around £500 tied up online but with the block I'd no interest in pursuing it. I'd done OK.

Profitable gambling is finished today. If you make a regular profit in regular gambling you WILL be restricted. If they think you're matched betting they WILL restrict you. In poker the edges are so thin only a very tiny minority can make it pay.

I'm not anti gambling but from years of experience I know the time is up. I was just lucky I was in at the start.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to gamble today. Not even matched betting. (edited)

I'll bet they think I'm dead, I know I've been hit with the dead man's tax on all site's (if you don't do a bet every 6 months they take 10% of your balance until zero.) I haven't done a bet in 2 years on any site.

I'm not banned or excluded myself from anything but I know if I were to take this up I would have to send my passport, driving licence, fingerprint and last will and testament to withdraw.

If you check my profile you'll see my first deal was a gambling deal that went chilly that would knock socks off this.

Not anti gambling as life is a gamble but gambling for profit (not for fun) is dead, finished, caput.

    Gamble responsibly guys! (edited)

I just think deals like this encourage you to sign up with "an offer" and I'm sure an internet hacker will take time to see which tooth my last filling was in. Each to their own, if you wish to sell you information for a quid that's your call. Why would you guess I have no money? You look a lot more clueless than me with that statement.

I recently only setup a Ladbroke's account to benefit from the £25 topcashback offer as I enjoy the odd footy wager. I've been impressed with Ladbrokes, I've had £2 back in free bets in just over a month. Far more than Skybet in the 5 years I've had an account with them. Please keep posting the free bets as I don't always login regularly to check for them 🔥

I started doing it this month and reckon I'll have made about £300 once the main free new account bets are done with.

If you don't gamble then site's will email you free bets and promotions. Make sure you don't gamble! If you regularly deposit and spend money you'll get nothing. Make sure your signed up for emails. Also be careful you're not using sites affiliated to the exchange your laying off on (PaddyPower?) When I first started Matched Betting, I'd have got a free £10 on Betfair's gambling site and layed it off on the Betfair exchange lol, they never said a thing but I know now they clamp down on it.

My local paper give free bets for a local bookmakers for things like Cheltenham and World Cups. With around 10 of these bookies close to me, I used to drive between bookies to use them. I'd have made £25 for an hours work several days in a row.

Even a few free spins on casino can prove profitable as long as you don't have to deposit and can transfer winnings without a massive play through. Sometimes it's about making pennies but pennies grow into pounds and matched betting is great for a few extra pounds every week.

    Great reply, much appreciated

I think it's about volume, join as many reputable site's as you can. Also be aware that many sites are affiliated and share info. Pick your own choices and don't go by recommended lays which offer the best return. If too many are backing the same choice it's a dead giveaway that you're matched betting.

Also don't do as I done and get a 20/1 winner lol. You want to filter everything to your exchange. As I mentioned in a previous post, I got a 20/1 winner then spent 3 months trying to withdraw the £400 as I had an account previously (registered to a different address I hasten to add and I'd never registered a card nor withdrew anything.) The big hit on my exchange also hurt for what was a few pounds profit.

Unfortunately you missed the good times. Even I got on it late but there was much more money to be made a few years ago. There's still money to be made but its not as much and its not as easy and the bookies are quicker to restrict and ban people

I was a poker player, things got harder and harder but I kept enough in a few site's to start again but I never did.

I've done OK out of the game, maybe £20k but I think I gave up at the right time.
