Tempered glass has a bit of a temper and I've heard horror stories of them randomly exploding (heat fluctuations?). They are also no good if you use a monitor arm as you're concentrating a lot of weight on one spot.
And literally breathe on it, it marks and smears!
Would definitely not recommend anyone to get a desk from Argos! I bought a black glass one (similar to this) and two critical parts were missing! Called Argos, they advised me to ‘take it back to store’ - I was like I’ve unboxed it all, it weighs a tonne, can you not just ask the supplier to send out the parts which are missing?! Spoke to a jumped up little CS Rep and a similar, very rude ‘Manager’, and they stated due to it now being discontinued, they have no record of what suppliers they use! Absolute joke of a company; I was told to ‘write’ (yes, via post) to their HQ and they may be able to trace a recent invoice from the supplier to get their contact details!
Luckily, I have guys who could make me the necessary parts (100% better quality than the originals I’m sure!) and a lot more sturdy, but most people wouldn’t have this as an option, and the customer service was atrocious. (edited)
