Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical White Dial Green NATO Strap Men’s Watch H69439411

Hamilton Khaki Field - Official Page

Details

The Case:

The slim 38mm case is made from silver stainless steel and has a matte finish to it. The matte finish almost creates a rough and ready attitude for this timepiece which would have been used in the harsh reality of the trenches. At the 3 o’clock position is the crown which once pulled out can be used to tell the time. Furthermore, the ever present Hamilton logo has been embossed on the side of the crown. Sitting in line with the case is glass made from a strong sapphire crystal material.

The Dial:

The white dial is complemented well by the black Arabic indexes and the old radium colour hands. The hands as well as some triangular indexes around the very edge of the dial are coated in a Super-LumiNova material which allows for easy visibility at night. The time can be easily read with a three hand display as well as a 12 and 24 hour display. Additionally, the Hamilton logo can be seen towards the centre of the dial.

The Strap:

A khaki green military NATO strap is what catches the eye with this piece. It sits nicely around your wrist with a standard 20mm lug width and can be fastened using a standard pin buckle. For all you Hamilton enthusiasts, the strap reference is H600.694.102. It is sure to be a dependable and durable piece.

The Functions:

An exclusive movement has been used to power this timepiece. The H-50 movement has been specifically designed for mechanical movement such as this watch. It has an incredible power reserve of 80 hours, ensuring maximum reliability even when it is not wound for a few days. The watch also comes with a hacking function. When the crown is pulled out to adjust the time the second hand will stop. This allows you to set the second hand for precision timing. Once the crown is pushed back in the hands will tick from that second.

This watch has a water resistance of 50 metres, making it suitable for surface swimming.

I really want this watch and that's a cracking price, but I keep seeing people complaining about the h50 movement.
Has anyone got any real life experience of it? Is it robust enough?
    Thanks

I’ve owned 2 of these previously- the black and the white one. Never had any issues with the movement. Winding has always been fine and both of mine kept great time- +4 seconds a day 👌🏻

Anyone with this watch find the crown sticks out and is annoying or not?

Lovely clean design there... Not sure if I prefer it with NATO band material or a leather strap, really like the simplicity. Would LOVE that in brass, bronze or copper.

By the time you add the tax, it’s coming out at the same price plus you won’t have an official Hamilton warranty. Makes sense to go with Watchnation.

"At the 3 o’clock position is the crown which once pulled out can be used to tell the time" - err, what? I would hope you can tell the time at a glance, this isn't some 1970's LED watch (or indeed a 2023 smartphone). Perhaps they meant to say "set the time".

I love the simple and functional dial, but in the absence of EMP bursts I'd prefer a quartz movement so it's actually accurate.

I really was tempted by these, but the pull out not screw down crown concerned me. Less secure so could pop out when swimming or doing other sports and cause serious problems. Hence why I looked elsewhere. I do have another Hamilton and it is incredible.

Save yourself a few quid and get one of these -

    ebay.co.uk/itm…505

Looks exactly the same...if you squint.

I actually have one, 3 Months on and it keeps time perfectly, best £4 I've spent for years!
