Would this work on my slightly rusty BBQ or am I better off buying a BBQ paint?

Screwfix do a high temp paint but beware that it's matte, not glossy and does scratch easily

This paint can be used on more than just metal if anyone is curious, we’ve used it on our fire surround (which is metal) and also a wooden handrail and a desk (which doesn’t have a dent in it after 8 years of constant use).

"direct to rust" is a terrible marketing phrase.

Hammerite aint what it used to be (presumably because of reduced toxicity to meet regulations). If you want good exterior metal (and other surfaces) paint give Rust-Oleum CombiColour a try - much better at doing the same job and can get it in a multitude of colours direct from Rust-Oleum (or just black / white from most trade places).

This is £7.98 in my local paint shop as I bought some last weekend... Online prices are so often higher for heavy low value items....
