We got some of the normal home chips a couple of weeks ago. Don’t know what they’ve done to them but they have cheapened them and they are awful. They used to have some kind of coating on them which made them come out nice and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Now they are just like standard raw potato. You put them in the oven and they come out the same as if you just put raw potato straight into the oven.

Totally agree.. same with Roast Potatoes. I always leave them in the oven 10 minutes longer than recommended

ahhhhhh... the lighter chip variant. I wonder!

Like with Aero chocolate, They've probably found a way to fill the chip with air so it looks big but contains less potato. Its my conspiracy thoery

To be fair the chips are actually lower in fat. The normal ones are 5% fat and these are only 2%

Cheap Iceland packs for £1 taste as good as these do now. Not impressed with last few I've had - I've just stopped buying them now. Easier to microwave some real potatoes for 6 or 7 mins, put a bit salt/pepper/oil on them - then put them in the oven for about 20 mins.

Cook in airfryer from defrosted in a few minutes.
You're right that the Iceland quid bags are just the same. (edited)

Had these today, they definitely are NOT “soggy” at all

I tired these with the cashback deal everyone’s mentioning below. They taste great and no negatives despite being ‘Lighter’. Would recommend

Get 900g of frozen chips for a quid at Iceland. Defrost in fridge overnight and cook in airfryer very very quickly.
    That simple and money saved.
