Decent 14 night itinerary this! Price is £697 per adult (£1394 total) but you can take up to 2 kids in the same cabin for free A family of 4 works out at £24.89pp per day.

Still excellent value for two adults without kids tbh, coming in under the magic £50pppd figure.

Round trip from Southampton, visiting Greenock (GB), Stornoway (Isle of Lewis), Isafjordur (Iceland), Reykjavik (Iceland), Ålesund (Norway), Måløya (Norway) & Flåm (Norway).

Nice modern ship (built in 2020) which I've personally sailed on - happy to answer questions but please search for "Virtuosa" on HUKD first as plenty of info and Q&A's in previous threads

For those wondering if the drinks package is worth it for them then this may help, it’s an example of one drinks menu from the 21 bars on board and below the drinks menu from the Master of the Seas English pub on board. REMEMBER all prices PLUS 15% tax and service charge.

    Hope it helps someone, Cheers!

Annoyingly, the text is unreadable on most of them (guess hotukd image upload has shrunk them?) , but thanks for the effort. Doesn't look too bad though, assuming you don't want to get blind drunk every night?

It's allowed your on your holidays did you enjoy the food onboard?. The reviews online seem hit and miss but I really want to book. Its working out a lot cheaper than 2 weeks in spain/canaries for us.

There is food for everyone, get in early if you want nice and fresh, there are four identical area son the buffet I think it just keeps going on and on and repeats, as mentioned portions at dinner in the restautant are not huge but you can have as many as you want or go to the buffet after, but really after a day or so the button on your skirt or trousers gets a little harder to do up so don't go mad, its there the you was it you will never starve.

Re the reviews they are from brainless people who could probably not even cook one meal at home never mind at sea, the ship is turning out thousands and thousands of meals 3 times a day, when at full capacity that is a min of 24,000 freshly cooked meals a deal WITH choices so even more, the logistics even to have the food on board and fresh is unbelievable, never mid the actually cooking serving and cleaning up after it.

Ships cost a fortune to build £750 million I think for the virtuoso, at 181,541 tons it uses around £150,000 a day in fuel, never mind all the maintenance, crew costs, remember there are around 1,700 crew on board looking after the 6,300 passengers so they have a ship within the ship with the same but less glamorous facilities, they still need fed and have bedding washed, it really is unbelievable. When you arrive to board all the staff guiding you and behind the scenes and there are loads and loads all need to be paid so the port fees are expensive, this continues in each port it docks at.

So I know for the £570 I paid for the whole trip including the premium drinks package it was a steal, you really don't understand until you go on one and study the way its run, its so easy to relate it to a hotel on land but this is all being done at sea from constant supply of hot and cold water to sewage removal to all your bed linen being washed and the shows that are put on.

People need to stop for a moment and just reflect on the majestic structure of it all and the amazing people that design, build and run these ships, AWESOME is not even a big enough word!

Sorry cruise newbie here. If drinks package is extra does that mean drinks aren't included? Or is that an add-on for premium drinks?

You get drinks with your meals but nothing out of meal times i.e. in any bar, cocktail bar, night club or specialist restaurant.

In case anyone didn't know and would like to try it there is a GLASS lift that goes up and down each side of the ship, there is an entrance on the pool deck at the aft end by the doors into the Marketplace buffet, the entrance is in a glass enclosure that looks like a pay point for a car park, see pic below its the vertical black stripe on each side of the ship, you get fantastic ocean views while using it!

Think that's enough time to see anything in Iceland?

Edit: £1000 extra for the drinks package as well (edited)

Blue lagoon is interesting, would have time to get there and back, don't know whats more exciting though watching spurting geezers or covering yourself in mud, did them both, drinks in Iceland are rather expensive and small mortgages required for meals and hotels

🔥 Really good price for a 2 week cruise! Either a family of 4 or 2 people. Solo price is very good for 2 weeks as well! Good stuff

Can't quite figure out how 4 people fit into the inside cabins, I can only see one bed, no pullouts or sofas from pictures.

There is no doubt some new cruisers will occasionally not know which end of the ship is which when on board, TIP: if the numbers are rising on cabin doors you are going to the STERN (rear) and then obviously if getting lower you are heading to the BOW (front) (edited)

I'm not being offered free child place on this. Am I doing something wrong?

I was. It was just splitting the cost over room occupants and the price had gone up. (edited)

***Edit*** Marked as expired as there don't seem to be any £700pp rooms left.

Okay, I'm really confused. I select 616pp price then it says 1800 for 3 people which is fine but then it is saying adults are 900 each and child 0. (edited)

They have fiddled with the prices on this one.

Base price has gone up to around £1kpp drinks package has come down to £220pp or £265 solo.
  19. getmore4less's avatar

They have readjusted the balance fare/drinks.
    No drinks available £736
    That's only 9.2% discount aim for 15% £680.
    Shop around on this one.

Drinks package is up could be one where PAYG works for a lot of people.
We have done Virtuosa with £40pd for 2people not going short. (edited)

Fyi, looks like the itinerary has changed. Doesn't include Stornoway anymore and seems to have 1 and a half day in Reykjavik
