Solo price isn't too terrible either at £976, so just under £70 pn

Not too bad, but I'd wait for a last minute deal. Can usually get some with no single supplement (so about £650)

Sorry I can't work it out, is this price for 4 people in one cabin?

    Yes

Cracking price but not voting either way as we've not had a good experience with P&O. We should be on Iona now - but 2 days before they emailed about their Chickenpox outbreak. No option but to cancel due to health issues but no sign of a refund so we could do something else this week. Not impressed with their utter disregard for customers. Will never book with them.

Did you pay by credit card?
Or did you buy travel insurance?

You'd have to be really good friends ( or really tight) to want to share a cabin with 3 others , best sticking to the regular 2 per cabin.

I had a quick look at a cruise previously but the extras seem to double the price. Any advice from thrifty cruising people?

P and o don’t have as many extras. Drinks are normal pub prices.

So 4 adults in one cabin? They're often fairly small... (the cabins, not the adults!!)

Tbf, yes it would be a bit crowded. But you're not going to be in your cabin for 2 weeks (only for sleep really), there's loads of things to do on the other side. (edited)

so when you choose a cabin and they have the cheap price, then the one they price as an upgrade

including the onboard credit, parking at the port etc
    is that actually worth it?

I'm sure I'd seen the port transfers were £15 each way, per person but included if you take the upgrade for example

Not been on a cruise for 10 years and don't remember the different grades of travel previously

e.g. I'm looking at a balcony with our kid, 3 total in the cabin - think its £600 to upgrade for the extras ..

Go to P&O site for more details.

There are cheap parking options £60-£70 for 2 weeks.

CPS inflated prices(£160) to make P&O select fares look good.

Note the 4 don't have to consist of children and adults, it can be all adults etc. - Adults ? Swinger trip then? 14 nights in same cabin for adults even in swinger mode probably too much=boring

Our week around the Fjords was brilliant, Would go and do it again in a heartbeat.
Was just me and the wife, Food was first rate, Entertainment good, Some was very cruise line, But some was top notch, We shared a table every night for dinner and met some great people, An old Italian man on his own(Wife died)who told us some great war stories, Another widowed man who was in the queens guard at her coronation and we were on the Iona while Charlie was having he's, And of all the tables in the world, We sat with 2 couples and one of the husbands worked for the same company i worked for when they shut our factory down and moved my job up to he's factory.
Honestly, Was more relaxing than laying on the beach, Never really felt crowded, No kids running around all over the place, Food all day, comfortable clean cabins, And to top it off, From getting our cases out the back of the car we were in our cabin in about 45 minutes, And coming home from cabin to car was less than 30 minutes.

It is a good deal if you just want to get away and have someone feed you and clean up for you.
But ..... 6 days at sea in a small cabin of 4 people through the bay of biscay in November..... Its not school holidays so I'm guessing this won't be most people taking their kids.
I'd fly somewhere warmer and calmer and cruise from there... Even if I paid a few more pounds

I been on Azura in a 4 bed cabin, there was 10+ of us on a family holiday. It was two bunk beds in the same size as a normal cabin with a double bed. I assume the Iona is the same.

If you book this all I say is be prepared for the stench of farts.

Late November cruise around the med. Sounds amazing

Wow, that's cheap. Will probably be cold so get inside cabin? (edited)

The bed isn't on the balcony!
If you get cold you can turn the thermostat up.

Just came off the P&O Iona
My experience has been a 2/5, as there's no great on-board actvitiy and except soak in the sun (depends on location) and theatre shows in the evening.

The small activities are way too crowded, plastic archery (40minutes queue for 3min game). Spa are booked in advance and crowded, people are selfish and would book everything out despite no shows for some of the theatres.

This is my personal experience only (edited)

I was on that cruise. Norwegian Fjords...

I can't imagine "Butlins on sea" being better than an all-inclusive holiday you could get for similar money.
All those people. I can't think of anything worse.

And also, Bay of Biscay in November? Good luck with that. Did that a couple of times a few years back. Even on a cruise liner, it's not going to be "settled".

Going back to the point and the OP, this is, however a good deal. I've seen 10 day deals in August for similar money (but generally adults only).
