Anyone got this tv? Be good to see if it’s decent or not

It's one of the more basic of the Samsung range, just one step above the AU7000 series. Not great HDR or local dimming. And brightness isn't very good imo. If you need a budget TV it's pretty decent but I'd regret not saving a bit more for a QLED

I got this and it lasted a week before the display cut out completely and hasn't worked since, had a repair person take it today as the motherboard was faulty, been such a hassle wish I hadn't bothered buying it

I scoured the Amazon listing for this to see if anyone was reviewing the AU8000 50". Couldn't find a single one, but there's plenty reviewing the 2022 50" version! Other sizes of the AU8000 have reviews on Amazon, though. amazon.co.uk/Sam…5BY

Added some Argos reviews to the OP, though they aren't too in-depth. Weirdly, there is contradictory feedback about connecting to Virgin (I suspect the annoyed reviewer has something else going on, or any issues have been fixed recently)49255751-hELUR.jpg49255751-XBKyo.jpg (edited)

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, absolutely love it. No problem connecting to Virgin what so ever. The Samsung channels are great! Loving the live concerts. Sound is not the best but we have a Roku Sound bar so we didn't care. The picture quality is really good we were blown away with the UHD.

Good TV for the price. The Crystal UHD ones are worth going for. If people want a better TV, you'll need to pay more

Pretty sure the 50" Au9000 is around this price point. What does Au8000 offer better?

I’m in a hotel watching this TV right now. Managed to hack it out of ‘hotel mode’ and got YouTube on it.

I’m surprised how thin it is for a budget TV, along with the slim bezels.

    Ask me any questions…
