Are these better than the Howden ones?

I fit a lot of Howdens kitchens for a living. I'm of the understanding a lot of their stuff are just rebranded generic brands or cheap imported items at a significant markup. Their range of composite sinks vary in quality along with the price as you would expect. Generally speaking, they're not the best, but not the worst either.
This particular item looks like more bowl than drainer. As someone previously mentioned, cheap black composite bleaches from cleaning products and light. Also, we have come across sinks that are advertised as composite, but they are hard plastic. The old motto, Buy cheap, buy twice, applies here.

When it comes to sinks and taps, they can be expensive, but usually for a reason. We recommend Franke and Blanco sinks because they fit better and last longer. Cheap sinks tend to bow and not sit tight to the worktop all the way around.
Same goes for taps, only recommend the dearer brands like Franke as we never get called back to sort drips. We now refuse to fit the Howdens Lamona range of taps because they are just cheap Chinese rubbish that drip after 6 months!

Whilst these look great once first installed they soon become very difficult to keep black due to soap scum etc, for this reason alone I would never buy a black composite/granite sink ever again.

have had a black granite one ( more expensive than these polyester resin ones) since 2014.... still as black as original

i think these ones do need oils to protect them so prefer paying extra for granite

How do these compare to branded biscuits, like Jaffa cakes?

What if your worktop cut out is bigger than these sinks, I had Howdens kitchen installed last year and got a basic metal sink, the problem is the Howdens sinks are strange dimensions, so good luck finding a ceramic sink with same dimensions.
