Temperature accuracy is poor from my experience I had to fit a wall thermostat in each room for the it work properly. This makes it a very expensive system. The wall thermostats are very expensive

Mine are mainly vertical. I haven't actually measured the temperature, mainly because it's not been an issue.

It could be down to the room, poor insulation etc.

One of my larger rooms struggled initially. It had x3 rads but I turned one off as I put a leather couch across it. I then swapped a single rad to a slightly larger but double rad and it made a massive difference. Previously I would set the heating to come on much earlier to allow the room to heat up. Now it can be done in minutes. The output of that rad was over three times as much as the previous single type.

    This improved control so much

Anyone worked out the payback period for these? For a whole house set plus thermostats and batteries they might cost a winter (or two’s) worth of gas?

Depends on each individual use case. For the majority of folks the payback will be never on these. It's more of a comfort thing / being able to have full control over individual room temperatures.

Got the full system maybe 2 years back and it’s the best thing we bought really, 100% has saved us in oil as we would going by past years spend a specific amount as we keep all the receipts and we deff haven’t put anywhere near as much oil in it, more than paid for itself would recommend to anyone thinking of it to go for it and then add to each room as u need to save in initial outlay buying it all

If you’re on oil, the figures would be very different to if you’re on gas.
