If you don't care about the branding then you can get high beat quartz (the second hand sweeps around like a mechanical watch and greater accuracy) for £20-50 on aliexpress with some fantastic dials, the lower priced ones usually have poorer stainless steel braclets (they don't show photos of the clasp). My twenty quid one appears totally accurate and has a lovely blue dial - overall, a much better buy than my low end quartz seiko. The more expensive ones have the Seiko VH31 movement inside (just search for VH31). End of the month will also have aliexpress anniversary sale so even cheaper then. Even automatic watches with seiko movement inside, for under hundred quid you can get amazing quality that compares with watches that cost three to five times as much in Blighty We are being ripped off here by the brands.

I agree but this is a Swiss made watch with very nice build quality, for the price it is a bargain. It is likely to hold its value well after purchase. Tissot really hark bark to when Swiss brands were affordable, functional watches and not flashy luxury items after the quartz crisis.

Lovely watch, currently wearing it. Not a great price tho. Have seen this regularly around £410 to £440 mark (edited)

That's fair. I believe there's been a price increase in February so I fear the days of getting this for 410-440 is no longer possible.

    Happy to be corrected though!

I'm tempted by the ice blue power matic that got announced last week

I was looking at one of these and they are a great watch. Think I’m going to just go for the Quartz version of the PRX though because I get 35% off so it brings it down to £208.

Given this watch can be bought for a £100+ cheaper it's not really a good deal.

Love this watch. Conjours up the image of a Grandads hairy wrists in the 1970s, sporting the watch his work gave him for 40 straight years at the same place before retirement. Very retro looking.

Here's my late grandads watch, a 1975 Seiko Quartz 3003. I also have memories of him wearing it with his hairy wrists lol. We found it recently in a loft after 30 years! If anyone loves watches that evoke a 70's feel pick up one of these they're so well built and 1/3 the price of a Tissot PRX.

If you looking for AP Royal Oak homage - Maurice lacroix aikon automatic is the one to get albeit a bit more expensive.

This isn't a royal oak homage. It's much closer to the Rolex Oysterquartz. I'm not sure why people suggest this when really the waffle dial and integrated bracelet are the only thing in common with the Oak. (edited)
