    That won't happen.

    These are usually USB 2.0 even though being blue. Check USBTreeView.

    No named product from overseas ... that costs 0.01p.

    Yes, this was a new law pushed by the EU which the UK decided to also implement, items under £135 must have VAT charged at checkout.

    I'm willing to bet that its a port power issue.

    A pd hub is the way to go for external drive support.

    Saying that, I've only noticed pd support on usb c hubs, but I suppose that you could try a otg adaptor back to usb A. Might be OK with a blue USB3 A port on your device.

    I’d only be wary of the shoddy usb c electronics as they can allow extra power and damage computer. Would be safer to stick to usb A for such cheap hubs (edited)

    Are you a new customer? If not, clear your cache+cookies or try another browser/device to see the 1p price...
    They frown upon having more than one account per person - you could be banned if they find out - but if you're willing to take the risk by making a fresh account with another email address +phone number +payment card - make sure all 3 are different to your original account (disclaimer: you could still be banned, so don't blame me later if they find out!)

    I ordered a pair of wire cutters, that were 7p (with 1p) tax. I'm not sure the wire snips/cutters can spy on me. They typically go for 1.70 with free shipping. It looked like a way to "push" a new store name in front of me. Something that I might browse and buy more from. So 1p for a usb hub is feasible I suppose

    Can someone recommend a usb c hub with PD, usb c data, a couple of usb A at least, hdmi, ethernet and micro sd card reader? usb ports need to be at least 3.1. Those I find are just with one usb c or slow usb ports.
