I remember the days of this getting removed constantly when it was posted at £3, because it was normal price.

What is the new normal price?

Buy "lite" cooking oil. Probably get a litre for 2 quid. Use it on hair clippers. And yes, it'll probably last a lifetime, or go rancid. Purchase & repeat

My nose trimmer said use light oil. WD40 or 3in1 is what I use.

This one is good, for foil shavers too if not using clean&renew station. But see no deal at price here as this is regular price and been for long time as such. And yes, can be found around £3.

Why are people voting this hot if it's the regular price and definitely a lot of money for that much oil.

Would baby oil work? I mean they’re both mineral oils…

I have tried different oils including baby oil. Plant oils get sticky over time and I don't find it suitable for my Wahl clippers. Baby oil is no good either. WD40 is too thin but good for getting rusty screws off. That's why I use only Wahl clipper oil for shaver and trimmer (which was £5.40 just 2 weeks ago, so £3.50 is a good price.

Why is baby oil no good? I spent ages looking at whether I even needed to oil my Philips shaver and i am still undecided (I guess it should make the metal parts last longer by not wearing, even if Philips say oilfree), but when it comes to all the different brands of clipper oils I think they are all better than using seed oils but most of them are just mineral oil. Baby oil has to be a mineral oil quality that is atleast as good as a machine/clipper oil because it is for human use and they don't want to sell toxic substances for babies. I imagine there are additives in the mineral oil when you spend a lot on something like Panasonic's proprietary foil mix but it's hardly worth paying the premium for.

Seed oils are not the best for lubricating machines, but are definitely safest for humans. If you are concerned about getting trace amounts of mineral oil all over your face (which I am) then perhaps better to just spend extra on new foils or a new shaver every now and then .... I decided not to use any oil at all and my Philips is still good after 8 years (edited)

Would this be the same as the oil used for paper shredders?

Not a bad price considering current inflation situation, I paid £2.99 on Amazon for same bottle in May 2020.

I've bought this but just been using andis cool care 5in1 on everything, including on my andis foil shaver so don't really see the point of this anymore?

For a start it is a third of the price cheaper, and also can be applied more directly to just the blades whereas the spray goes everywhere. Also the oil lasts much longer in use and between applications.
