I know this is posted alot and it's very hit or miss wether or not it works. It took me several attempts with PayPal just to get the card to link but eventually it does work . A great deal once it is working, good luck.

****For people having trouble with the country changing, you need to use an installed version of your VPN, not one of the browser ones, for example windscribe chrome add-on wouldn't work, windscribe app did, both set to phillipines.*****

****Important note that I was using NordVPN - Indonesia Server 3. Let me know which one you used that worked so I can update the deal also please.****

Subscription prices around the world fluctuate a lot. Mostly due to the fact that they have to be in relation the average income of different countries.

Prices:
Spotify (1 User) = ₱129 p/m
Spotify Family (6 Users) = ₱194 p/m

So the steps I followed was

- Connect VPN
- sign up to PayPal in Philippines
- register your card to the Philippines PayPal.
- bill address, I put my
UK door number.
UK Street name.
Phillipino city
Post code = the numbers from UK postcode.
Eg. UK postcode is tw94bl so I put the Phillipino postcode as 9944
- Register to Philippines Spotify
- pay by PayPal

Remember the address you use, as family members will need to confirm your address when activating their subscription.

Hey, just found this post. Does it still work fine? Sorry these …Hey, just found this post. Does it still work fine? Sorry these questions will have been asked multiple times I'm sure but here goes:1. I've never looked into this Revolut card, but presume you can't choose to use an existing Credit Card, eg my Halifax Clarity card that has zero transaction fees/charges? (that also happens to be linked to my main Paypal account too)2. Does that mean then, assuming I'm able to find a temp VPN to use to complete this, that I have to make sure my Revolut card is topped up with enough funds to cover the monthly charge? (Which I'm assuming won't need to access a VPN to access my Paypal or Revolut account at those times for payment maintenance?3. From what I gather, this will work on existings Spotify accounts? ( I don't mind my own primary account changing to a different email address as I dont really use it), but my sons account is linked to his facebook etc, and even tho could set up a new account address for him he'll kick off and strop like an over the top manga character if I suggest changing it and him having set up all his stuff again4. I take it once a spotify account itself is setup, that can then sign back into it on a phone etc in the regular manner (ie no VPN connection needed? Thanks for your patience guys

Yes the Spotify deal via PayPal is dead now. The only way to get some cheap spotify is through GO5050, the social network for users looking to split the cost of digital subscriptions. Through them Spotify Premium is only £3.97 and that's the cheapest deal anywhere online currently.

Finally managed to update my Starling card. Should be good now until Sept 2024

Made a right mess of it to start with. I had 2FA enabled, so needed the verification code from my Authenticator App. Only I've just swapped phone last week and it didn't migrate the 2FA accounts. What I should have done was backup the codes from the old phone, and import into the new.

Ended up locking my account and having to phone Paypal a number of times as I was getting the error about 'checking validation' - It's still nagging to confirm my +36 phone number, but you can just 'not yet' past it.

I did think about getting +36 SIM, but hopefully, I should be good now. (edited)

Just this week my Revolut card expired and I'm unable to log on to PayPal Philippines to update it as I get the error "We can't confirm it's you".

I tried a few of the suggestions here but nothing worked for me. I then sent a payment of £3 from my uk PayPal account to the Philippines one and then Spotify retried the payment after 3 days which went through.

I'll carry on using this method from now on, I just sent £10. You are charged PayPal fees but I'm happy to take the hit.

That's great news!! Can I ask where you were connected to during setup?

It was just the Philippines location on cyberghost, one thing I did notice was that I had to set up new accounts when I used the invite option, but that may have because the existing accounts were previously set up in the uk.

Go to Spotify Web and ensure you've changed the location at the bottom right to Philippines (English). The url should be spotify.com/ph-en/

From there accept the family request. and you should be able to login.

I am trying to re add her, by sending the link from my premium account but it tells me she is in the wrong country. I've downloaded Express VPN and it shows the IP as the Phillipines, but still no luck. Any suggestions please?

Make sure her Spotify account is set to The Philippines on the web site her app and that her address is the same Philippines address as your main account.

I just tried it again, using ExpressVPN connected to Philipines and I could get into my PayPal account. So it seems to be working again?

I typed PayPal.com into the browser, but it took me to the SG version which I assume is Singapore. I was able to log in though, so not sure what caused the problem.

I was able to go into Spotify and re-subscribe to the Family plan, paying with PayPal (from my Revolut account), and then re-add the family members.

So I guess it all still works, just some gremlins in my configuration somewhere?

    Sorry for the false alarm!

It is strange because on the same day it stopped working, I also got emails from Spotify saying:
"To protect your Spotify account, we've reset your password due to detected suspicious activity.

You need to create a new password to log back in. Just click the big green button."

and also to another email account that was on the same family plan saying:
"We noticed you logged in from a new device. If this was you, there’s nothing for you to do right now.

    Location United Kingdom

    Not you?

Take a few minutes to secure your account. "

So something happened, but perhaps unrelated to the payment issue? (edited)

I documented my entire method on my second attempt to setup this. It is rather verbose but if 1 person can follow and get it working - great.

    PHILIPPINE SPOTIFY FAMILY
Setup Spotify Premium for Family on Spotify Philippine URL site with recurring monthly payment for GBP2.96 from PayPal account setup on PayPal PH URL site with a Revolut card linked in that PayPal account.

    Resources I used.
    -———
    # URL: expressvpn.com/wha…-ip ##constantly check your IP and VPN session connection is still geolocated at Philippines.
    # Windows 10 PC. Doesn’t have to be Win10.
    # Chrome browser. (Clear you entire cache / browsing history - all of it) There is a reason not to use Incognito mode later on.
    # Revolut card. With at least £5 in UK GBP for the purpose of getting going. Note: I could not purchase Philippine Pesa as a currency through Revolut. Confirm/create a Virtual Card to be used. Commenters say that this card should not be linked or used in any other PayPal account you have. Follow this practice. I actually deleted my existing virtual card and created a new one. I had to update any services using the previous one of course.
    # VPN service running as an application and not as a browser extension.
    - ExpressVPN was used for 1 month on 30 day money back guarantee. So cancel after if so.

    VPN Setup
    ———
Download VPN software of choice (ExpressVPN) confirming that the service chosen has servers to connect to in the Philippines - most VPN services report their VPN server list on their website. eg. I found that my sub to VPNSecure does not have VPN connections for PH!
Install software to complete, Activate if required, then Open a VPN connection to Philippines from the list of available locations. ExpressVPN has ‘Philippines (via Singapore)’ - don’t worry.
Once connected, check you IP and location via URL at top. Web page shows you are located Manila, Philippines.
    Continue...

    PAYPAL Setup
    ————
    Open browser to paypal.com/ph/
Choose Sign Up. Buy with PayPal
    Note: URL shows paypal.com/ph/…ome

» Sign Up FORM fill out page.
The page auto-picked country as Philippines. And the flag at bottom of form was Philippean flag. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_the_Philippines)
    Enter First and Last Name.
Enter Email address**, then before a password can be entered a Captcha Security Challenge appears. Tick ‘I am not a robot.’
    Continue and enter a password.
    NEXT

** Use a gmail account. If primary account is named hoodwinked@gmail, then use the email (eg) hoodwinked+phspotify@gmail. This keeps the account unique and never referenced and used before. We will use this for Spotify sign up also. The emails will all end back at the primary email inbox.

» Account FORM fill out page.
    DOB: Own was used.
    Nationality: Philippines
Drivers License: Xnn-nn-00nnnn ##format found in Google Image Search of Philippean Driving Licence. X is a upper letter. n is a number.
Address Line 1: non ##enter here only the house number/name that matches that of your Revolut Card or CC address billing details.
Barangay/District: xyz road ##enter here only the road name that matches that of your Revolut Card or CC address billing details.
    City/Municipality: Manila
ZIP Code: nnnn ##enter here a 4 digit code based on your real UK Postcode. If SW1 4DJ, make it 1144
    Province/Region: Manila
Mobile: +63 nnnnnnnnnn ## +63 is forced here. Enter in your own mobile if you want. Entry here is required.
    Confirm checkbox
    AGREE AND CREATE ACCOUNT (click)

    » Account Created:
Add a card to start using your PayPal Account
Added Virtual Revolut card. Newly created. (VISA)
    LINK CARD (click)
Captcha. I am not a robot

(Revolut App notifies me that PayPal has just withdrawn £0.77)

    GO TO YOUR ACCOUNT (click)

Notes: PayPal will now and again ask you to verify your account using the mobile number... just say Not Now.

Confirm VPN session still connected to Manila,PH - expressvpn.com/wha…-ip
    Now to Spotify account......

    Spotify Account Creation/Setup
    ==============================
Open browser at spotify.com and sends me to spotify.com/ph/
Go through the Account creation wizard..
Once created confirm Profile shows Country: PH
Without PH as your country here can be root cause of further problems.

Now lets try and get Spotify PH and PayPal PH to link up!!!

    Choose Upgrade, and go Offers.
All the while the browser URL is at spotify.com/ph/…um/ and Phillipean flag in bottom right of web page (sanity check)

    Spotify for FAMILY
    ———————-
    spotify.com/family
redirects to back to a spotify.com/ph URL
Plan is Philippean Pesa @P194 per month
    GET STARTED (click)

    The Plan Payment page appears
Choose Payment Method has a drop down that is sitting at Credit Card by default.
Click the drop-down to reveal PayPal and choose it.
Click START MY PREMIUM FOR FAMILY
Notice Philippines country flag is still the chosen country.
Spotify goes through to PayPal Agreement page for Spotify to have a 1 month recurring payment withdrawal.
    Agree and Pay.
    SUCCESS!!

{Still connected to the Philippean VPN)

Notes: Revolut App notifies me that PayPal has just withdrawn £2.96

    URL showing: spotify.com/ph/…ess
Now on the page with INVITE YOUR FAMILY option - select it.
Premium for Family page section under Account appears with a FORM to complete.
Complete the FORM about You with the exact same address details above used in PayPal.
    SUBMIT

    URL showing: spotify.com/ph/…iew
Your Home with You page is presented. With the option to Invite other members of your household to join your plan.
SEND INVITE option - select it.

    URL showing: spotify.com/ph/…ite
    Invite Family Member page
First and Last Name and Email
    SEND INVITE

    FAMILY SETUP NEW MEMBER ACCOUNT
    ——————————-
During this procedure DO NOT use INCOGNITO Mode in Chrome. Sign Up Form will not display Captcha.!
    Open VPN Session to Philippines
    Sign Up for Spotify
Confirm Country is set to PH
    Click on the invite email.
Fill out Address details exactly same as the owner of the Family account filled out.
Complete the form with the Captcha. Submit.
Confirm the Activation Account email also.

    EXISTING SPOTIFY ACCOUNT
    ——————————————-
If a person already has a Spotify account, I believe they can ‘convert’ this to. Family Member account. But they also need to be connected to a PH VPN session first. So...establish VPN session to PH.
Logon to Spotify. Spotify geo-locates you and probably only presents PH as a country to be changed to in that users account profile. Then the exact same address, field by field needs to be completed for that family member that was used to setup the Spotify for Family account.
Once saved. Drop VPN session and use Spotify as normal. Never change the country to anything else. Leave it at PH.

This is as stated is long winded, could be shortened down. But it is how I got my accounts in Spotify and PayPal linked up. No steps missed and as much detail as I recorded about the method as possible. If it doesn’t work for you then something else is at play. The main one is the recurring payment message... sanity check that the country is set to PH in Spotify before proceeding with the payment link up.

Hallelujah.. I gave it one last try and it worked.

    The process I used is:

    1. Used IPVanish VPN using Manila server.

    2. Used Chrome browser but opened an incognito tab.

    3. Signed up for a new PayPal account. Used Monzo card making sure it was removed from previous account. Made sure PayPal URL was PayPal.com/ph/…ome before signing up.

Used house number on first line, Street on second, Manila as area and zipcode 6060. Did not verify PayPal or add any card at this point.

    4. Went to previously made Spotify account. Followed the link for family, clicking PayPal as payment option.

    5. PayPal link opens up, however I amended this by adding /ph/ in the URL following the PayPal.com and in-between the rest of the URL.

    6. This reloads the PayPal screen an I logged in.

    7. You are then requested for your card details. Change the URL again to include the /ph/ following the PayPal.com. Again this reloads and you are asked for your card details. Input them and click ok.

    8. You are then taken back to Spotify where you can add your family details. Monzo card charged for £2.97.

    Good luck.
