Try, "Alexa play Audible Original Treasure Island." I had the same issue.

Try saying "Treasure Island audiobook Audible Original" or "Treasure Island Audible Original".

I already have a version of Treasure Island in my account (Narrated by: David Buck) and I wanted to listen to this version (I prefer audio books with multiple actors doing the parts as apposed to one person doing all the voices) but can only get Alexa to start the version already in my account. Does anybody know how I could get her to read this version?

Shame only on echoes.

Jungle Book is also still available for free.

Same as all the other cheap nasty Quadcopters goes up down sideways, what more can you ask for at that price. They are sometimes £20 at b&m and Poundland. Great fun easy to crash, plastic bends, pick it up bend it back and up you go again. The only real problem and I do mean PROBLEM is if you catch the bug, then it’s really going to cost you. Agree with pretty much every point raised in the discussion. The only reason I am still gaming on PC is for the higher frame rates but with PC gaming costs rising and Console cost decreasing, it's harder to justify paying the premium. Graphics have improved so much that the difference between the two are narrower than it's ever been, looking at comparison videos between console and pc graphics it's not night and day like it used to be. There becomes a point where you're engrossed in the gameplay that you don't even notice the minor differences (I know I don't). PC still has a sector that it dominates: VR. PSVR doesn't even come close to what the Vive & Oculus can offer and the momentum is there to keep it pushing forward. I love my Oculus but it really needs higher resolutions along with beefier cards to drive it and when they do arrive I'll be picking them up. From this mining craze, I'm most dissapointed with the retailers cashing in on the GPU shortage though. Gouging the enthusiasts that have supported them for so many years when nvidia themselves are selling at msrp has left a bad taste in my mouth. Fortunately I already upgraded to 1080Ti before the mining craze but if any of these price hikes put people off pc gaming I wouldn't blame them.

Yep, agreed. They're essentially pricing their own customers out of the hobby. Once all the muppets stop mining, there will be a much smaller customer base. If it carries on like this we'll see the decline of PC outlets like Overclockers, Scan etc. I disagree about framerates - The difference between my 60Hz display and my 2 165Hz ones is phenomenal. It's really something when you get a full lockout of 165Hz, especially with GSync.

I think this is not the case, unfortunately. I'm a member of a large gaming forum that regularly features threads on new graphics cards etc. In these, I always see posts from members along the lines of 'hope I have a job in the summer to afford this (premium graphics card)' or 'I've been saving up for months/years to upgrade to this (premium graphics cards).' Nvidia have got people by the knackers with their marketing, making it seem as though these expensive toys are an absolute must.

It's true, 'premium' graphics cards (which really starts from anything above a 1060 now because of Nvidia's continual price hikes) are essentially a massive con if higher framerates than 60fps and/or 4K resolution are things you can live without. I can. And the later you can get with a £260 PS4 Pro for all intents and purposes with that console's 4k checkerboard upscaler. I'd challenge anyone to notice the difference from sitting distance. The problem is, AAA PC games are tethered by the specs of the weakest console out there (Xbox One), so mostly everything is built from the ground up with the lowest common denominator specs-wise in mind. Those PC games that are PC-exclusive are not given the budget or time to offer boundary pushing graphics either. What I'm trying to say is that its absurd Nvidia charging £500+ for graphics cards that essentially are used to power games that can run with good settings on much cheaper hardware. You are now, more than ever, paying a monumental premium to enjoy a tiny improvement in visuals. Subjective opinion of course, but framerates above 60fps I don't notice nearly enough to justify a few hundred pounds more of GPU power. 60fps is perfect for me.

Lol normally this isn't an 'either or' situation and let's be honest if you have £500 spare for a graphics card you don't tend to be short short on money

All I'm trying to point out is that when topics like this get discussed to death on hifi forums and the people who really care about music quality on the forums can't agree on this subject then flac is wasted on probably nearly all of the population and large parts of the remaining few are deluded anyway. I'm probably the most fussy person I know when it comes to music and equipment. If Shure SE535's Ltd and B&W PX headphones on a quad dac player aren't enough then I guess flacs are even more pointless than I already thought they were. It's simply a waste of money to most people and I encourage them to try the online tests before spending their money. If they can't spot the difference side by side then there's absolutely no chance they will truly tell the difference in real use. There comes a point when sound quality is so good that audiophiles are playing spot the difference for the sake of it instead of enjoying the music.

What I want to point out is if you can barely hear the differences because of your ears or the gears you have, simply just enjoy what you have, MP3 isn’t by any means bad at all. However, If you don’t mind to pay more, there is nothing wrong with flac or even SACD too, as long as you enjoy.

I don't really get what you mean by too complicated. I've pretty much got everything covered. I don't get why people are chasing flac files and raving about bluetooth aptx HD. If a person is satisfied with bluetooth I'd recommend not bothering with flac. The difference for me is way bigger between wired and bluetooth than good mp3 and flac. Another bigger issue is the quality of the original recording of which nothing can be done about at consumer level For me concentrating so hard to hear the tiny difference between good mp3 and flac kind of removes the pleasure of listening to the music and just enjoying it.

The things a lot of people didn't realize is to really enjoy or at least able listen hi-res music requires good gears (speakers/headphones, dac, amp), good recorded albums, environment and a good pair of ears (perhaps with some training too...). If you think to fulfill all these are too complicated, then might as well just stick to mp3.

There are quite a few tests online to see if you can tell the difference with audio quality. Have a go and I think most people will fail miserably. At least you'll know if you are wasting your money by keeping the subscription. 3 months free is a no brainer though and obviously a good deal! TBH I failed most flac tests. I use shure Se535 limited edition earphones and Bowers and Wilkins PX headphones wired on a quad Dac player. I think there's a bigger difference between wired and Aptx HD bluetooth than there is in decent mp3 and flac. I'd go wired every time despite my headphones and device having Aptx HD bluetooth. I don't care if my stream is Flac or good mp3. I'm as guilty as the next man for wasting money but go for whatever floats your boat in life if you can afford it.

OK I am seeing the de-interlacing issues on live TV with my fire stick.. it's only noticeable on fast moving scenes. I have been reading that the latest Fire TV (pendant) gen 3 has built in hardware de-interlacing which I guess is why you were asking me as I didn't make it clear I had the fire stick. Anyone able to comment on de-interlacing with the latest fire TV 4k?

In using the HD home run app for the fire tv which seems OK for live tv. Not tried live TV in kodi yet. Got the fire tv stick for 29 from argos weekend before last. It's still on offer there. The roku is unable to play back the mpeg codec natively thats used in live tv broadcasts, so the plex server has to transcode to whatever codec the roku supports. That is also why HD home run never made a Roku app.

Are you referring to mpeg2 due to DVD playback, or Plex Live TV? If the latter, how does the Fire TV cope with interlaced content? (and also as @blakie881 asks - where did you get it for £29? :)) I have a Firestick and Live TV is unwatchable due to it's poor deinterlacing ability.

Please tell me where you purchased a Fire TV from for £29. Sure it wasn’t the Fire Stick?

Just noticed that neither Quidco or TCB offer any money back for sim only contracts with mobilephonesdirect. That ruined that idea.

I know many people get problems but of you make sure you clear your cookies properly each time it reduces the risk. I've been lucky and have claimed thousands back from Quidco and TCB without major problems. In this case they're specifically offering this deal with the cashback, so even more chance of being successful.

I might be reading it wrong but.... shows this deal, with redemption, coming out at £9pm but with the possibility of £30 topcashback as well, or Quidco

This may be so for some, but we have recently cashed out two sim deals from November, bought through Quidco.and we had £40 each as advertised.

Really having second thoughts about this with all the reports of people not receiving their cashback; I'm in bluddy bad need of a contract though...

"The list price, also known as the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), or the recommended retail price (RRP), or the suggested retail price (SRP), of a product is the price at which the manufacturer recommends that the retailer sell the product. "

So it does not worth £473! At least I would not give that much money for this card!
