Showing not available in Rotherham, but there were 4 reduced models on display. They've ordered me one in. If you're interested in one, it's definitely worth popping in and asking.

Anything over 5kw will need ventilation, ie knocking a ruddy great big hole in your wall, mmm toasty!!.. brhhh

Remember that unless you are buying this particular (or another) DEFRA Approved Smoke Exempt (SE) stove, or installing one in an area outside of a Smokeless Zone (check with your local council), it will be an offence to burn anything that creates smoke through a chimney.

I believe this one is only allowed to burn dried, seasoned wood to be compliant. That way, if a Local Authority Officer comes knocking you can prove you're using an exempt appliance with the relevant fuel. (edited)

Or you don't intend on using it indoors. Madness that there is no restrictions for outdoor use.
Much nicer to use than a fire pit where you have to keep moving your chair to avoid the smoke.

Also good for if you have an off grid hot tub. Make a coil with with 8mm copper microbore pipe round the chimney.
Then all you need is a 12v washer fluid pump, a car battery (optional 12v solar panel to help charge car battery).

If you want to leave it in the field all summer just build a pig arc to put over it an nobody will notice it's there (you will need to lay the stove on its side for storage)

The only annoying thing is the many trips filling water barrels to fill the hot tub at the start of the summer(Or Easter holidays if you are a bit more hardcore!). It's handy if you have a farmer near that has a 1000l IBC water cube that he can bring to the field with the tractor.

Not quite true. Standard install in a detached single storey house is around £800, flue around £500. Base depends on flooring - however you can make a slate base yourself from slate tiles for under £50 or for a more rustic look use concrete slabs.

Well in my case absolutely true. If I could get a quote near to what you are claiming I would go for it. All the installers in my area (Suffolk coast) quoted roughly the same ballpark price.

I managed to pick up the one I bought and put it in the car alone - you’d need 2 for the 7kw ones I’d guess - or take some spinach
the come banded to a small pallett

    Agreed.

I broke my ribs last week so asked if anyone could load it into the car for me .. the two lads from Homebase struggled with it big time!

This - it was by far the biggest renovation cost when my friends did their house up. Took up about half their budget.
