Our Closer to Nature Perfect Prep machine makes life easier for both of you by delivering a fresh bottle at body temperature in under two minutes. The perfect way to save time and tears!

You know it's better to make fresh bottles as your baby needs them, but with so many things to do it can seem impossible. Our closer to nature® Perfect Prep machine is here to save time and tears, giving you a fresh bottle at body temperature in under two minutes. Here's how it all works:
1 The Hot Shot
Press to release a hot shot of water into your bottle. At 70ºC this will kill bacteria that may be present in your formula.
2 The Formula
Scoop the desired amount of powder into the hot shot of water and shake to dissolve, then pop your bottle back under the dispenser.
3 The Top Up
Press again to top up your bottle with cooler water, and you're done - a fresh bottle at body temperature, all in under two minutes.

It is important this machine is used only with the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Replacement Filter to maintain its ability to remove bacteria and impurities present in water.

Unbelievable product. Mould was fake news. Was possibly non-perfect prep filters being used allowing carbon deposits to gather,
had digital version for nearly 2 years now with our two kids and no problem whatsoever. £50 bargain. Heat

Wasn't there an issue with mould in these machines?

Not all the machines experience this issue and upon investigation Tommee Tippee found it was not mould but a harmless carbon residue, a by-product of the filtration process.

The machine was independently tested by Tommee Tippee, however NHS cannot verify it is sufficient to kill enough bacteria to be deemed recommendable.
However, personally, 'research' performed by the company marketing the product or the "I did it with mine and they are fine" argument is not really sufficient when it comes to baby safety.

We almost bought one of these not realising that you only need it if you're using baby formula.

We were fortunate enough to be 100% breast milk, which our baby was happy to drink straight from the fridge or body temperature... which obviously no parent knows until the baby has arrived!

At £50, definitely a hot deal. But you might not actually need it.

That's fake news by some midwives unfamiliar with how it works. The machine dispenses the right amount of boiling hot water based on the amount of formula used. Shaken, this kills any bacteria present in the formula. Cooler water is then added to bring it to perfect temperature for consumption.

An antibacterial filter is present to remove anything present in the cooler water.

Used it for two children, zero issues. It's completely safe if used as directed.

Not recommended by the NHS, in fact they advise against them. I looked around for an alternative and came across a kettle (uneeqbaby) that maintains a temperature of 70c for 24 hours. Make most of the bottle with that and then top up with cold boiled water from a glass bottle in the fridge. It’s actually much easier than the TT and absolutely no parts to clean/maintain.

Edit: once you no longer need to use it for formula you can use it as an actual kettle (edited)

Do the NHS typically verify products? I've not seen any which are "NHS approved". That's an interesting one. I'd assume they'd avoid endorsements as a government body?

Cosydream and swaddles (the swaddles were too big until around two weeks old). Our little boy sleeps brilliantly with this combo.

    amazon.co.uk/Bab…SQJ

Cosydream is another thing the NHS wouldn't endorse, but when you get one you see how safe it is. I'd argue safer than nothing as our baby used to wriggle around up to the side of the crib, this stops him sliding around.

We also have the prep machine, it's a fantastic time saver and means baby gets his bottle much quicker when he's upset.

Enjoy! I found the first eight weeks tough, but as he's getting older he's so much more content. The smiles and laughs are awesome. (edited)

I understand some of these issue was that the cool water shot means an insufficient amount of bacteria was killed for them to deem it safe, but there are several NHS guidance documents out there explaining why they are not deemed recommendable. The testing was carried out by Tommee Tippee themselves. It is not just this particular product the NHS recommend against, it is all 'prep' gadgets.

But as I say, it is up to parents to do their own research to make an informed decision for their own child. Many new parents are not aware of the safety precautions thanks to well-marketed products.

Nice to see all the positive comments for this product. In the past there have been some very negative comments by do-gooder Mary Poppins types implying that new parents are somehow lazy by using this. I must say this product was a godsend when our little one was a baby. Highly recommended.

These are so good, worth every penny. No need to worry about scare stories unless you don't have safe drinking water. That is the reason the NHS didn't recommend them, the fact the cold water shot is not sterile. However, sterile bottle, sterile milk... unless you have a sterile house with sterile air and your baby has a sterile mouth, you are never going to have a totally sterile feed.
