Whirlpool AKA Hotpoint = total junk.

Whirlpool stuff is quiet decent - Hotpoint - not so great … Whirpool bought Hotpoint from an Italian company and the stuff at that time was horrendous- even supposedly casing the Grenfell Tower fire

I'm a bit confused by that aswell as the Amazon listings states it can heat up the room in winter and has a heating function. I assumed that was the 3rd function, but I just looked up the manual online and the manual has no mention of any heating function on this machine. (edited)

    3 in 1...
    air conditioning unit
    dehumidifier..
and it has a "HEPA filter" which means it has a built in air purification system. (edited)

True I've had hotpoint appliances in the past and they barely lasted I wouldn't touch them again.

Not had the chance to use it yet but it definitely doesn’t have the heat function, just cool and dry. Also the footprint of the thing is massive!

Great price thanks OP - still trying to decide between this one and the Russell Hobbs 11000BTU which costs 57 quid more. By all means it is better to get an air con in the dark cold winter (as opposed to 2 days prior to the record heatwave in summer).

And how you think they can sell one for so cheap? You'll spend more time and money trying to fix it than just buying a decent one.

Has anyone else measured power consumption of theirs?

I notice no matter what fan speed is the consumption doesn’t go over 800w when compressor is on. Supposedly the unit is rated at 1,100w input power so makes me think the compressor might not be going to full capacity (thus lowering cooling effect).
