I'm using the free version of Spotify, and I don't get any ads. The browser I use is Brave, and it has a built in ad blocker. This works fine on the Laptop.

Setting one up soon so will find out for myself anyway but would be cool to know if it does work. I didn’t think any adblockers would be able to bypass them though so I wonder how brave is doing it.

Pihole doesn't block adds when I use spotify on my home network.

Only downside is that you can't choose exact tracks to listen to.

Tidal 68 pence a month via Argentina VPN. Neil Young included.

They've started clamping down on doing this now card for payment needs to be issued in the country of account holder.

Or at least this is the case for me...

Which is fine if you listen on a laptop or computer.

But then I'm sure there will even be people who would fanny around with a browser and adblocker on a phone just to try and get it without paying for it.

how depressing.no wonder why musicians are so broke

Irony 101. Man states it's depressing why musicians are being shafted by Spotify on a site that thrives on online retailers making mistakes that creates glitches that 1000's of members attempt to shaft them by ordering before they twig on.

Until they sort out Spotify HiFi not going back. Charge the same for a lower quality product than the likes of Amazon HD.

I do this deal every now and then. However I do have another solution.

My general work-around is to use a cheap tablet, Amazon fire 7 are often about £30,.I've been using one for 2 years now and before that had an older one. The HD8 is significantly faster and easier to use though. If you listen on a tablet you do still get adverts but you aren't restricted to listening in shuffle - you can pick and choose and skip as much as you like.

As a bonus, if I'm listening on the tablet you can actually control the playlist via your phone too. I usually do this for train journeys etc - tether tablet to phone for data, headphones on. Leave in bag and just control using my phone.

Nice. Spotify is the only responsive music player. Miles ahead of youtube music and amazon music. The only only that quickly works on the London underground using its cache. Invaluable out and about and in the gym.

I''ll wait till the end of the month to pick this up and get three months and then pick up a gift card on amazon to buy 12 months for 10. after it expires.

Yes, I've used it for a lot longer and I listen to 90s to 2000s UKG and House and there are alot of custom remix of famous songs in the genres that are user uploaded. If you listen to the modern music you'll be alot better on Spotify. I've used Spotify for the music I listen to but it's not as good for my needs.
