    Director's Cut sucks.
    Destroyed the 'innocent' dynamic between the two characters.
    I urge you to not watch it if you care for your memories of the original.

    Watched this a few years back and thought it was awful even though people seem to think it's a great film. Maybe the theatrical version is better.

    Theatrical version is better for sure. Directors cut brings in all kinds of questionable moments. The theatrical version is, as someone else said, innocent.
