How the hell do they get the price so low?, they can't by very good compared to pricier LG models?

That's because the established brands charge ridiculously high for profit margins and we don't know. They do spend much more on marketing, research and innovation, but still...I've paid £575 for my entry level 65 inch Qled, this was less than a year ago and I've got a big discount at the time. Never thought in less than a year I will see 65 OLED at almost the same price as my QLED. Proper bargain and the soundbar is a bonus. (edited)

I have this and like it .

Hdmi 2.0 but that’s good enough for 99% of ps5 , series x as most the 120hz game run at 1080p anyway . Hdmi 2.1 is future proofing for PS5 pro /PS6 at this point .

the lack of hdmi 2.1 and HGIG may be the reason why most HDR activated games look washed out though.

great sound, especially Atmos Netflix and DTS downloads. Deep blacks are perfect .

definitely needs calibration out of the box .
some very annoying motion issues , but custom judder settings at 10 solve 99% issues .

I don’t recommend for sport and family use (as manually choosing between presets is needed

Given the protruding soundbar, can anyone please recommend a reasonably priced wall mount brackets for this TV?
    inspectorhector's avatar
    inspectorhector
Any wall bracket that comes with spacers (plastic mounts which push the TV out from the bracket) will suffice. Just make sure to use substantial screws or preferably bolts to mount to the wall and check the length of the screws used to screw into the back of the panel to ensure its supported correctly. This one from amazon would be perfect and allows a small tilt too. 20mm spacers provided and What hifi award winner.

Any tech heads here know who actually makes these panels and if they're worth buying?
Reason I ask is that this brand has always had the appeal of an out of date piece of fish. It was known as one you'd buy if you couldn't afford to buy a decent TV. Open to be corrected by those who know, not those who think they do.

All consumer OLED TVs prior to this year used LG panels, because they were the only ones making OLED panels in those sizes. Samsung entered the market this year with their QD-OLED panels, which are currently only being used in their own flagship the S95B and Sony's flagship the A95K (Sony's lower-end models use LG panels). HOWEVER, the panel manufacturer is irrelevant in terms of whether a TV is good or not. I'll just quote my own post on the subject.
A good panel can still be dragged down into the mud by horrible picture processing. I tried a "Toshiba" OLED back in 2019 (really made by Vestel) that also of course used an LG panel, and it was absolutely awful. The picture quality was ghastly, with horribly inaccurate colours, bad motion handling and terrible upscaling amongst other problems. The extremely limited controls available in the UI provided absolutely no way to correct any of this, no matter how much I fiddled with them.

It was a miserable TV that genuinely looked worse than the £350 LG LCD that my mother bought around the same time. It went straight back (to Costco actually).
I doubt this will be anywhere near as bad as that though. Hisense are a competent brand who make solid TVs, whereas Vestel just buy up brands that used to mean something and slap them on the cheapest crap around. They have the rights to tons of old brands now, including Toshiba, Hitachi, JVC and Polaroid. Even some of Panasonic's low-end LCDs are made by Vestel, though Panasonic's OLEDs are brilliant. Hisense make their own stuff and target everything from the ultra budget market to the high end. (edited)

Just realised, Costco currently offers a £150 voucher with this TV (until 31/7), so you can buy it for the same amount straight away!

Only drawback is the voucher can only be redeemed online and by 31/8, so if you don't buy from them online very often, it's better to wait a bit...

How many games actually run at native 4k/120?

I think I know of just two.

Anything actually running at 120 is usually 1080p-1800p, with plenty of variation in-between.

Using 2.1 at 120hz, you're still getting an upscaled from a lower resolution image.

I have been tracking this TV for while but because I already have OLED the is no point to buy another one Was Thinking maybe LG G1 will be going to bedroom but then think no no it is does not matter how cheap tv is or how good if I do not need so do not need But really wanted to buy

Why I was Interested to this TV

LG have they cheapest model A1 but they so cheap I mean the screen so reflecting + processing only 60 hz on the panel it self it is like getting deep black picture quality "OLED" , but crap view of reflections and motion 60 hz + I do not like LG OS worst OS on TV

Now Hisense Cheap on price do not know why maybe because they can push they brand and new models coming so need Costo to clear out the stock so Costo selling without profit margins etc ... ?

But panel 120 hz I know it is not HDMI 2.1 I have Xbox x and PS5 and my LG G1 do 120 hz 4k
Does it feel different then say 60 hz Yes you can see that picture more smooth , but is this 120 hz or more AMD Variable refresh rate .
xbox and PS5 do not have power to do 120 hz triple games anyway Old 2D games yes they can do native 120 hz

    So Hisense Pluses for me
    1- 120 hz panel
2- Looks like more logical OS then LG OS
3 -Sound Bar this is another big selling point do not need any speaker "say 100 - 200 Pounds of saving if you buy separate sound bar "
4 - Price now it is discounted so much that I do not know better oled for this money on the market

My only worries why it is so discounted ? if it is only brand decision then buying this TV some people win as they get good tv for cheap price compare say TV LG where they charge for they brand "apple"

Received my one today and absolutely love the picture and sound quality.

One thing that has told out is the fast processing when navigating through the apps or menus.

Another great feature is the option to have the TV picture off and only listen to the sound as it has a sound bar included.

I have applied for a price match to see if they will honour the difference as I bought it last week when the price was £899 but they were giving £150 cash back.

At the time you could also get £100 cash back from Hisense effectively costing me £650.

I would prefer if Costco gave me the price difference instead of the voucher as the voucher can only be used in one go and during a specific time.

FYI - you would need two people to set this up as the TV stand is heavy. It also has a screen protector on which I’ve decided to keep for the time being.

You can’t tell that it’s on because it’s the thin sheets and not the glass types that you get on your phone.

FYI when filling out the price match form, the item number will not be recognised so just enter the number 1 in the item number field.

Then at the bottom, there is a box for further info and add the item number there.

This TV has now cost me £499.
£100 Hisense cash back that was an offer at the time
£150 Costco voucher that will be issued as it was an offer at the time
£150 price match as it’s dropped from £899 to 749

If anyone bought this when it was on offer last week at £899, you can submit a price match guarantee at Costco and you will get another £150 back as the price has dropped by this much.

I did this yesterday and got the confirmation today. This is in addition to the £150 voucher that you would have received and the £100 cash back at the time that Hisense were offering. This has now cost me £499.

FYI - When filling out the Costco form, the item number will not be found so enter the number 1 in the item number field and at the Bolton, add the item number in the section where there is an option to enter further information.

The sound issue is that some people can hear a whooshing background noise at low levels. Suggested that its some of the forward voice being directed to the subwoofer? I had been using my TV for weeks before I even noticed it, and then only on news channels when they switch from say a talking scene to a different scene and the noise stops! Never notice it when watching film...its weird but doesnt bother me as I only notice it now and then.

If anyone has purchased this TV and when switching off the bottom right light flashes continuously - THIS IS NOT A FAULTY TV. This is a feature that this Hisense TV has whereby periodically when using the power off button the TV will not switch off (usually you get a click sound if it has). This is a built in feature whereby the pixels are getting refreshed for the next use before it will click and switch off. Can take a few mins (max 3). Don't make the same mistake I did in returning and getting another one! As it did it again on the replacement but all is ok! In my opinion it's an absolutely stunning TV for the money. Ive added my own soundbar as wanted deeper bass and WOW.

The only issue I have is I cannot get Dolby Vision to work even when using an external stock with a demo DV mpeg. What version software is everyone using? Mine is L0923 (edited)

I’ve been following this and here is my takeaway

Last years 65” C1 is £1600 at Curry’s and the C2 is £2000 at Costco (best prices I’ve seen atm).

If the C1 stock lasts curry’s will likely offer 10% off in the Sales. You can also get 7% off with pre-paid cards. But even with that (and a hypothetical price drop) I doubt you will get below £1k.

For what’s it’s worth, I got an A9G and liked it so much I got a second.

Still less than a single C1 and the sound is great. My 3.1 KEF set up is better but not by as much as you’d think when it comes to watching content (music is great on the TV but KEF if a different league) - especially given that KEF cost more than a C1). However, the DTS setting is not great so stick to ATMOS.

If they get more in I would recommend it.
