Lidl will be good for returning this when it inevitably breaks. Keep the receipt and box.

For many years Argos would not accept returns of electric blankets. They would make you sign an agreement on your receipt when you purchased one due to having so many returns.

I am a big fan of electric blankets having had many over the decades. Reliable they are not.

What's wrong with this disposable and faulty electronics culture?....my folks swear by theirs and they bought their electric blankie in the 80s lol.

Hi, they had these in b&m bargains a few weeks ago for £25 don't know if still available but might be worth a look

90W for 1 hour is 3.06p based on the October energy price gurantee. However these blankets don't run at full power all the time.

If you have one of the big cancer research stores near you it may be worth having a look as they are selling them for £25. Picked up a kingsize in the Newport store a few days ago.

I picked one up last week in my Lidl, double £13.99. it was the last one so I assumed they were getting rid of..... maybe it was last years!

I saw somewhere on another deal that these don't cover the whole of the bed. Another brand was mentioned that has full coverage but I can't find the post for the life of me. It was listed as single control but actually dual control too. Can anyone help? (edited)

I've got a king size, if covers the full width of the mattress, give or take a couple of inches ether side. However it does stop short in terms of the length dimension so my pillows sit in a dead zone, but as I wouldn't want my head heated this isn't a problem.

Refer to the second photo on the Lidl page as I'm afraid i couldn't link it.

One of the best things we bought an electric under blanket. Coming up to it's fourth winter. Don't usually leave on over night , mainly to warm the bed before getting in. Can be left on but would only have on low, fell asleep a couple of times with it on and woke up red hot a couple of hours later (:I. As said , these will fly off the shelves.

My friend sent me one when my husband died, best gift I've ever received. Was always scared of them in the past, my Mum had a 1950's pink contraption that I always thought was dangerous.

Annoys me that these are called blankets but they go underneath you affixed to the mattress. Under blanket perhaps as some brands call them.
Who sleeps on a blanket? Pretty sure most people if asked would say a blanket goes on top. Rant over. Heat for the deal (edited)

Got the same one from Lidl last year, worth every penny. Same price too.

Think the power consumption on the specification quoted may be for a single blanket , ours is a different brand King size with duel controls and each side is rated at 90w (180w total). This is the maximum it uses and after the initial heat up will only use a fraction of this to maintain temperature. (edited)

can you use these just as a normal blanket on the sofa?
    rickj's avatar
You need a heated throw for sofa.

Mine stopped working after 8 months and was a bit of a farce returning it to Lidl. Was £24.99 then so they are trying it on a bit.
