ITV hub no longer works on this box.

It's very cloggy in response. I've disconnected mine and no longer use it.
It freezes after being put in sleep / standby. Humax used to be good but gone down in recent times

The Humax Aura is a cracking bit of kit, so don't agree that Humax has gone down. Their customer service is also still excellent in my experience.

The 5000 is getting a bit old tech now though,.so I'd expect it to be getting a bit laggy with modern app demands. (edited)

Manhattan T3R also gets good reviews, twice this price though.

I have this too and it’s a good bed. The best is the humax aura but way more expensive.

I have the 1tb box. Had it a few years now. I agree it's a little slow now. Changing channels had a small lag. ITV hub had stopped working which is a shame. But over all it has been a good box. I'm not sure why itv hub has stopped. I mainly use it for recording and it does that well enough.

BT TV Pro 1tb boxes usually sell for ~£100 on eBay. Might be a better experience

Those bt boxes are crap, I speak from bitter experience with them.

Got the 4000 (which is basically the same box) to replace Virgin. Perfect for recording TV not so great for streaming but have a firestick for that. I thought it was really slow at one point but turned out to be a dodgy remote. Freeview box that can record up to four channels at once is a bargain at this price.

I have had one of these for a few years, very slow and buggy. If there was a decent alternative I would change it. Good price though if you can put up with its many faults.

I have a larger version of this model. Yes, excellent for recording on multiple channels. A useful feature is you can have their app on your phone, or iPad, and watch live tv in another room, or as you wander about. You can copy (non HD) programs over to a flash drive to use elsewhere, but very slow transfer rate. Best way is to transfer wirelessly to your PC. 500GB is enough to allow you to store plenty of programs! A good deal!
