Re-engineered for different hair types
With a powerful digital motor for fast drying, and intelligent heat control to help protect your shine, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer now features re-engineered styling attachments to style different types of hair.

Info added by @wadz

Flyaway attachment
The ideal finishing tool for sleek, straight styles. Hides flyaways under longer hair to give you a smooth, shiny finish. With just air.

Styling concentrator
The wider, thinner design3 of the re-engineered Styling concentrator creates a high-velocity blade of air that's perfect for styling. And because the air is focused, you can style one section at a time – without disturbing the rest.

Diffuser
Re-engineered to disperse air more evenly around your curls, the Diffuser simulates natural drying, helping to reduce frizz and define curls and waves. Longer prongs allow you to style more hair with greater control – and reach deeper into the hair.

3 precise speed settings
High – for fast drying and styling
Medium – for regular drying
Low – for diffusing

4 precise heat settings
100°C – fast drying and styling
80°C – regular drying
60°C – cooler drying and diffusing
28°C – constant cold

Gentle air attachment
Engineered to be kinder to fine hair and sensitive scalps, the new Gentle air attachment diffuses the air, creating a gentle, cooler airflow - while still drying hair fast.

Wide-tooth comb
Engineered for curly and textured hair, the new Wide- tooth comb attachment has robust teeth to help lengthen hair as it dries, or create volume and shape.

Magnetic attachments
The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer comes with magnetic styling attachments. For easy fitting and rotation during styling.

These are offered free to professional hair stylist salons and even they say no - that should give you a clue on how good it is if you do dry a lot of hair

Just sharing my experience... ordered last night, received this afternoon. Opened the box and it's a brand new unit with still the transparent foil around it. Very impressed!

don't bother ordering from Dyson. I bought last deal and they sent me a dirty hair dryer. customer service on eBay was a complete and utter joke. I had to file.a claim and lost (due to me filing the wrong claim). only after sending a LBA to Dyson did they refund me. Shocking customer service. avoid at all costs

You get free returns and you don't have to provide an actual reason just use any from the drop down option. No need for claims unless you try to get money back and keep the product (edited)

I bought this for my 86 yr old Mum last Christmas. She loves it,in particular how light and easy to handle it is and says it makes styling her hair much more straightforward. She would never think about spending that much on a hair dryer but as a special gift it was perfect.

    I just received mine today.
Cellophane wrapped retail box - just like you would buy in the shops.
There was no mention of 'refurb' anywhere but because some posts mentioned dirt or cracks, I quickly opened it to check the contents over. I needn't have bothered it was all brand new.
I may have been one of the lucky ones.
Thanks again to the op. Absolute bargain - my wife is gonna love this for Christmas.

Mine's just turned up. There was no cellophane around the box but it looks brand new, quick inspection inside. I'm fairly convinced it's new and unused. (edited)

Thanks OP. Spent a good deal of time wondering whether this is worth the extra over the GHD Air.
Gone for it now, so time will tell if it's the right decision... will put away until Christmas.

Hopefully 4% TCB too, plus the £2 off £5 offer, so hopefully should mean a total price of £184.61 (edited)

I bought the GHD air about 2 years ago and just bought the Dyson Boots deal yesterday. I found the GHD hood, but nothing amazing and quite heavy. Excited to try the Dyson !

Just checked and was able to do the same. On top of the 10% they already apply which when you add the 20% gets it to the £194 price tag.

not worth it. they sent me junk and you only get 1 year warranty. I'd rather pay a bit more and get a full warranty new in the box. they don't even give you a box

I don't have much hair on my head, hah, but this is an honest question: what makes them so special / pricy?

    Edit: typo. (edited)

the unique design.Dyson is a premium brand.some people like to pay premium for the unique beautiful design.
the same reason their blade-less fans are £200 but a conventional fan is £20.
a decent regular hair dryer is about £50-£60 but won't look modern and nice. (edited)

Can someone pls explain why this is so pricey? Is it because it's "Dyson's"?
    sheffield788's avatar
    sheffield788
Yes. And also because is a good product. But overpriced of course. Brand new is over £300 and it seems people spend that kind of money on it. My wife has one, she's very pleased with it but said she'll not spend so much on a hair dryer. Lucky her, she didn't need too...

Decent price, but been down to this a fair few times - do we gamble and see if something better comes along for BF?
    sheffield788's avatar
    sheffield788
If you look back at previous deals, the cheapest ever was £180 over a year ago. Otherwise in between £185-200. I don't think BF will make a difference.

I picked this up last time it was on a deal. Their was a paint chip near the air outlet. After a bit of back and forward on ebay they sent a replacement.

Make sure you check yours when it arrives.

I can’t see if this come with a box? What people’s experience of a Dyson refurb, trying to work out if this would be presentable as a birthday gift or if it will look very 2nd hand.

It comes in a box, pretty much like new apart from every single part being individuslly wrapped. It does say refurbished on the box tho

I’ve had one of these since they first came out (2016). I absolutely love it. It’s quiet, powerful, light, takes no time at all to dry and has a really long soft lead which never tangles. More importantly, my hairdresser always comments on my hair being has in such good condition and I never have fly away hair whilst/after using it. Before this, I was replacing hair dryers every year. Never had a problem with it at all. (edited)

Pretty solid quality Dyson products, they surely do know what they're doing. There's plastic imitation sure, but the real thing is engineered to perfection plastic. Heat for the deal, refurbished stuff is as good as new, especially on a discount and its better for the environment too.

i bought this for my wife earlier this year (same deal) & can vouch that this hairdryer is AMAZING (according to my wife & 2 daughters all of whom have long hair - even I can tell how good it is! The 'refurnished' product is 'like new' (as in it really is PERFECT) the ONLY difference is that it comes in a plain brown Dyson box as opposed to a glossy / coloured retail box so this really is a bargain!

i bought one of these a month ago only issue i had was some scuffs on thr attachments , has it made any difference to my hair , nope but it was a splurge. took it to collge to do barber pop ups and somone nearly cut through the wire so its not leaving the house now .

my only issue it has 4 heat settings and i can't go passed the first and even that feels hot. so not sure if its faulty or ot as i have never used a dyson before. (edited)
