WRONG. I bought one off these for my wife. I was also sceptic however it is extremely good. For one thing, when you shove the nozzle into your hair, the airflow restriction did not result in the heater glowing red hot with a smell of singed hair. The heat is processor controlled and is precise. She tells me it has halved the drying time and makes straightening her hair much easier. All I can say, is try it

Wow you don't miss anything do you Sherlock. How hot is the deal?

Then you are not their target market and shouldn’t buy one

That may have been the case before, but my wifes Parlux laster 10 months, 3200 model...got it replaced and then it lasted 11 months. Terrible build quality, must be cutting corners these days. Dyson will last much much much longer than 11 months, this takes 3 times longer to dry your hair and also uses 300 watts more..... Sounds like a false economy to me...

pentan

Don't know why cold. £60 off normal price if u plan to get one anyway

MCYounes

It's still loud but it's much quieter as a typical dryer. You can normally try them out in Currys or JL.

ms2005

How noisey are these? My little girl hates drying her hair because of the noise.

gjc5111

Yeah I agree it's really expensive. Thanks for your thoughts!

£300 for a hairdryer (lol) wtf

gemmalouise89

If you think it’s so crap then why are ALL hairdressers using them these days?! To me it sounds like you can’t afford it and haven’t even tried it but your sitting on your high horse commenting about how YOU don’t like it... (lol)

Walgeon

So many people complaining about something they don't want or have even used. Saw people doing this when Dyson came out with their vacuums and now people pay that price and more. Dyson innovate and redesign. Don't like it? Don't buy it. Just don't act all jealous and put people down for buying these products. Dyson rethought how a vacuum works. Now most vacuums follow that design... Though they still don't improve like Dyson. For how many dryers my girlfriend has gone through over the years and how noisy they are it's probably be a saving to buy this if they last as long as the vacuum... Hopefully we see a better saving soon.

Come on guys- it’s a whopping £5 of the normal retail price! i think it also does the hoovering for you while you are drying your hair. Life doesn’t get much better.

Does it wash and professionally dry your hair for you at that price (shock)

So you are happy to buy almost anything from China where workers have no rights at all? Where our trade deficit is enormous, in other words they grabbing our jobs and tax? Which workers right is Dyson trumping? In life there is a hierarchical phenomenon. Not all fingers are equal, not everyone is the same. If his products cost 100x more than others and so what? No one is forcing you to buy his product. Demands drive his pricing and product model, not someone looking for deals on HUKD.

kathie1404

I suppose on a positive you will get advantage card points buying from boots, but no cheaper than elsewhere

DaveRobinson

Who said anything about cutting hair??

FireFreeAFC

Didn't realise it cuts hair too... In that case £300 is a bargain.

I’ve used one and really don’t understand the hype. My hair dried no quicker, felt no softer and acted no differently to when it was dried with a £20 hairdryer.

:/

Not sure why so cold. We absolutely should pay whatever Dyson asks for his Malaysian sweatshop produced plastic on which he won't pay his taxes to contribute to the country he lives in.

Toilet

I bought this and it's the best investment ever. Cannot go back to normal hairdryers in hotels!

Oneday77

Taking an average usage of 3 times a week. A normal 1600W Hair dryer will cost £15 a year to run, this about £3.50. So energy efficiency isn't that much of a selling point. Even over 10 years, if it lasts that long, you only save about £115. If you factor in your time as being valuable. If you think of time as £10 per hour. This will save you about £600 of time, per year @ £10ph. Then it starts to make sense. That's an extra hour a week to rest, exercise, do housework, study, Netflix and Chill, etc.

katombler

Suppose it's all about how much a difference it'll make to you personally- I have friends that have quite thin hair and it would honestly be pretty pointless for them. But for me it's an absolute battle and ball ache to dry my hair and if it makes as much of a difference as upgrading my Henry to a Dyson V8 I'll be pretty pleased!

Deakcracker

Whole week wage on hair dryer, sorry cold.

katombler

I am literally the same - to the point where it takes me so long and I get so stressed out my life revolves around "hair wash night" so my boyfriend can't make plans for us if it's on a Tuesday or Thursday night after work... he convinced me to get the hairdryer and granted it's an awful lot of dough but if my hair dries in 8 minutes it could quite literally change my life! Got it. Great deal. Had to ring up to tell them and they logged a case and asked me to call them for a 10% refund once dispatched. Done this via Quidco and received a further £15 off! Thank OP.

Cheapest price you can get it for currently. Heat added.

Hot for those who can afford it and appreciate such a revolution in the blowdry market. Let's take a moment to appreciate how GOOD this dryer is and how much SENSE its functions make + it's on a discount relative to its RRP. Check all the professional reviews about this and its unanimously a better hair dryer than everything else they've used; like iPhone of the smartphone world when it was first released in 2007, the dyson supersonic basically reinvented the blowdryer. Functions to appreciate that NO OTHER blowdryer has today: - Location of fan is in the handle - The simple placement of the fan in the handle makes it so much less strain to hold a blowdryer. Anyone who has used a blowdryer for more than a minute knows the feeling of the having the balance the blowdryer with more wrist strength the longer you blow. - Magnetic attachments - Also seems like a no brainer... Most blowdryers just use a plastic rim and snap on which loses fitting overtime (some don't even fit well the first time and leaks air). - No metal heat grill - If your hair touches the grill; you know your hair is instantly damaged... but its faster to dry the hair the closer you put it to the grill. Damaged hair sucks. Most of us dudes just don't understand this. Ever look in a mirror and notice that 1 weird looking hair that is out of place, extra long, sometimes frilly, and without thinking the solution is to pull it out? Now multiply that by a hundred for long hair when it gets damaged and pulling them is not a solution; you're stuck with hundreds of strands of annoying crappy hair thanks to a blowdryer. - Dynamic temperature adjustment - Blowdryers don't do this. You set it to hi, lo, or cool and that's the constant temperature it blows without regards to your hair. Blowdryers have no concept of the temperature that is actually blowing on your hair. The dyson monitors the temperature outflow and adjusts dynamically if its too hot. Yes, this is a very premium price for personal use, but this is also not paying for your everyday blowdryer. I personally don't own one, I just appreciate how big of a leap it has given to the blowdrying world and maybe some of these innvocations will trickle down to cheaper products in the future.

Use code VC65. Crazy price for a hairdryer but cheapest I can find.
lois.atkins

£250 for a hair dryer only a saddo would pay that time to get a new wife I think

TasmiaAhmed-1cb27.70416

To be honest it is nice of you to get your Mrs this. I have one and it is a fantastic hairdryer.

Sharpharp

£250 broken down is: £4 for the dryer components £6 for maketing £240 for Dyson's Christmas bonus, so he can purchase more white iron-free shirts and tell us that we really need this. In reality, just like the Dyson Fans, this is be made of cheap plastic and he much louder than any other normal fan/dry dryer out there....

sharon.dockrellmundy

Why when i use code fir dyson in boots it vc65 it wont taje it can anyone help tbanks

Basia123

I agree with the person who bought this hairdryer. I myself too have bought one. i don't go on 3 holidays a year or buy the latest iPhone for £1000 when you can get one that VIRTUALLY DOES THE SAME THING FOR MUCH LESS so why criticise someone who want to buy a hair dryer that is more expensive. It is a treat to buy this dryer or a very kind gift. It is not only rich people who buy this dryer. I buy this dryer others prefer to go out drinking, buy games consoles or iPhones or have numerous holidays or sky tv.
