Purchased this around a year ago, can't remember the exact price but I think it was £40 or under. It's still going strong, we've cooked everything from whole Peri Peri Chicken, Lamb Chops, Chicken Wings, Chicken Drumsticks, Beef Rib, Frozen Chips, Frozen Battered Cod, Quiche, Frozen Samosas. I'm assuming there's loads of other items and recipes it can be used for. Size wise it's decent and will be adequate for most families and their needs, we are a family of 5 and only if we're cooking multiple items together such as wings and chops do we need to do half the items then put away in hotpot and carry on with the rest and put first half back in just before second lot complete to get that crispiness, otherwise it handles most stuff in one go. All in all it's a really decent air fryer that we'd recommend. (edited)

Buy 2, so much better than the dual ones which are too small

9.5L ones rely on you filling the basket as they're very deep. I'm looking at getting racks to put in them for double layer cooking

I have this its great. However would now go for a dual knowing what they are capable of

I just got this for the big basket, most duals have smaller baskets than what I'm upgrading from so I can't see the advantage. I've also never once needed to cook things at diff temps and diff times surely like an oven you just add part way through.

Had this one and really liked it. Done frozen chips in about 12 minutes. Used it regularly to do Steak and chips. Put Steak in and set to 200 degrees for 18 minutes. After 5 minutes add the chips and turn steak over. Take steak out with 5 minutes left on timer and leave it to rest. Shake chips and do them for remainder of time. All cooked to perfection, best steak I have ever had. As it got used more though I struggled to do multiple items so bit the bullet and bought a Tower dual drawer one this week. Really depends how much you think you will use it and how many people you are using it for. What I would add though is that air fryers are definitely handy so you will probably find you use it more and more so may end up moving to a dual drawer one somewhere down the line. Cheers.

A fair number of HUKDers, including me, bought this model for under £30 earlier this year. At £45 it’s still a bargain. (edited)

I ended up getting this as its a bigger capacity. Reviews for both are really good.

For me it just came down to needing a slightly larger one-if you're just 1 or 2 person household then maybe the Scoville is better for you?

Bit of a long shot but is the basket big enough to fit frozen pizza? :/ 😜

To cook a frozen pizza cover the top in foil (ensure you put under the pizza base) for half the cook time. That way you get your base cooked properly without burning the top. (edited)

This is an excellent machine and well worth the money. Great introduction to air frying but I then decided that having a dual drawer would be better for us as it is easier to do 2 things at same time in it, you can do 2 things in this but if they overlap it can affect the cooking time etc. 2 family members have also went from the single to dual model for the same reason.
Sorry if that muddies the water for you but i would base it on family size and what you think you are going to cook, i.e. multiple items. Good luck.

Had the previous asda model for 4 yrs now & it's survived through three other air fryers that have died for various reasons. The asda one gets brought down from the loft each time, to keep us going while I research what to buy next & it stubbornly refuses to die. We keep it to take on caravan holidays. No idea who makes them for asda but they last forever.

Low in fat.  You can eat as much air as you like.

Those who gave this one, an you please give some examples of how long it takes to cook chips, chicken, etc?
Also, does it work for you cooking a meal together in one tray or do you regret not buying a dual one so you can separate foods? Forgive me if it's a stupid question!

2x this or a one of those dual fryers? The latter ones have extra functionality like dehydrate etc....but are they commonly used?

Initially it's going to be simple things like chips, roast potatoes, fish fingers, chicken strips etc.....

But then may do stuff as I learn more...
    Zikohh's avatar

Dehydration takes like 12hrs + so I never did it.
