The Acoustic Energy AE100 Bookshelf Speakers are affordable, entry-level speakers with impressively clear sound and minimal distortion. Wide dispersion tweeters and a long-throw motor system around four-inch mid-bass drivers offer greater placement flexibility. Despite their small size (ideal on bookshelves, desks, or stand mounts), the pair deliver balanced sound with enhanced bass performance. This is thanks to a slot-shaped duct which reduces and smooths out air turbulence.

Wide Dispersion
For a pair of small entry-level speakers, Acoustic Energy has managed to pack plenty of sonic enhancements into the AE100s. Firstly, wide dispersion technology helps sound reach your ears even when you aren’t standing directly in front of the speaker. This means the sound quality is retained over a greater distance as you move throughout your room.

Smoother Sounds
Long and narrow, slot-shaped ports on the rear side of the speakers also improve sound quality. These ports promote smoother airflow from within the cabinet, meaning the AE100s experience less resonance and distortion. Such ports are one of the reasons Acoustic Energy are able to keep the AE100s so compact without compromising the bass performance.

Optimal Placement
While wide dispersion technology and a long-throw motor system extend the reach of sound from the AE100s, here are some tips for optimal placement. Firstly, ensure that your tweeters are at ear level. This will help with the balance of high-, mid-, and low-end sounds. Secondly, place the speakers on a flat surface such as a desk, bookshelf, console table, or cabinet. Stability will prevent unwanted vibration from interfering with your sound. Alternatively, the AE100s can be stand mounted; this is an easy way to raise sound to ear level and make your Hi-Fi set-up look more impressive.

Features

  • Wide dispersion technology for optimal sound over an extended area
  • long-throw motor system surrounds the mid-bass driver and pushes sound further
  • Satin black and walnut vinyl veneer finishes give you a greater choice
  • Great value means you can enter the world of Hi-Fi speakers on a budget
  • Stand mountable for added elevation and stability
