Imagined by Hotel Chocolat, engineered by Dualit, this chic hot chocolate machine creates barista-grade hot chocolate, made with real grated chocolate flakes, in just 2.5 minutes. No need for the resident hot chocolate maker to slave over a hot stove, slowly heating milk and showering cocoa powder. Instead, simply plug in your Velvetiser, choose your chocolate and your milk – dairy or plant-based, or even water if you prefer – and press the button. Plus, with the removable whisk and non-stick coating, cleaning is easy – just rinse out with cold water. (It’s not suitable for dishwashers – but they’d just slow you down anyway.)

Included with your Velvetiser:
  • 2 Brand New ceramic Podcups

Often 69.99 on hotel chocolate website ( with VIP membership which is free). Would rather pay £15 more and get a scratch free one

Bought one last time and it stopped working after a few times. They shipped another one which was fine since it is within warranty. The cups are not like the official ones. They are thicker and better quality. I would pay extra £15 to get the official one with vip at hotel chocolate.

    Bought it last time round.
it arrived as new, all the contents present and correctly wrapped, the only thing I could see that made it a “refurb” was a damaged box.

Are these good for chocolatey cocktails?

And are there any ways to avoid the calories with these things (edited)

Avoid this company like the plague if anything goes wrong they are useless. My package was lost/stolen and eBay sided with them, even though they said they have requested the cost back from the delivery company. Had to do a charge back in the end. (edited)

I had no problem when Evri misplaced mine during delivery, quick message to them via eBay and they sent another and they claimed back off Evri

Bought one of these in October last year for daughter, stopped working just after xmas but returned it to the hotel chocolat store in lakeside after speaking with their support and got a brand new one. The company on ebay would have replaced it but it was alot of faffing about.. so just took it to store

Forgive me for not knowing but how is this any different than heating milk on a saucepan?

If you like hot chocolate these are great, heats the milk and chocolate together

Ours failed after 16 months of occasional use. We've now bought a Lavazza one and it's much better as you can take the jug off and put it in the dishwasher.

In what way does it fail? Completely dead or change in quality of the hot chocolate?

Bought in december new, stopped turning on in feb after about 20 uses. They advise filling with cold water to reset thermostat but no joy.

Anyone ever fixed one? They are sending a replacement but would be good to fix, can’t be too complicated. Surprised it didn’t last long.

Love mine but downside is that you can only make one cup at a time.

Can you use any hot chocolate powder of your choice or does it have to be their own brand?
